Johnny Cash with Ring of Fire.

Garbage with Vow. From their titleless 1995 debut album.

Raw, Great, and I CAN'T believe it's been twenty years.

And I gotta write some post 'bout Butch Vig once.

Good night.

ps: and if you're looking for a good Saturday night movie, try The Imitation Game with Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley. It's damn good.

Via Tundra Tabloids, a translated opinion page of a (former?) muslim woman who now lives in Sweden and decries the fact that the same mechanisms which ensured that her sex was second-rate in her country of origin, are now being put in place in Sweden... with the collaboration of feminists:

“Religion and culture are once again arguments allowed to oppose gender equality and equal treatment of men and women,” writes Sara Mohammad.

We are many who escaped from a cultural of religious repression and demands for control of women’s sexuality and denial of equality between women and men.

We came here to Sweden with high expectations of a free society. We wanted to be part of a free country that the Swedish women’s liberation had achieved. We also wanted to support women’s liberation in the countries we came from.

But today we see with concern religious forces gradually moving its positions in Sweden. We have experienced it, we recognize it, we do not want to suffer again.

Religious norms and values always have brainwashed us to perceive them as something natural and desirable. In fact, they are often misogynistic ideas that oppress.

In a feminist government Swedish society should treat everyone equally. It doesn’t help for societal institutions to maintain ideals from countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran.

A breakdown of women and men, as in the case of separate bathing times in swimming pools, is proof of Islamist power and ability to push through old rules in the new country.

What looks like a simple solution to a practical problem is in fact a surrender to the oppression we once fled from.

The repression exercised by both male and female Islamists.

Religion and culture are once again arguments allowed to oppose gender equality and equal treatment of men and women. When religious leaders get a little finger it will not be long before they take the whole hand. We begin to get used to give representatives of the human vision to set the agenda, we do not know where we will end up.

Many have come to Sweden to live in freedom, but there are others who wish to run the country in the opposite direction – toward bondage.

Slowly but resolutely want to change the way we look at ourselves and at each other.

Separate bathing times is not a single detail, but part of a systematic and methodical work that Islamists are pursuing.

A common opinion is that “Muslim women should be allowed to live in the same way as they have always done.” Ie during Hijabs, burkas and separate spaces when they are outside the home.

But it is wrong! Muslim women have not always lived as today. On the contrary!

For those seen photos from Iran, Afghanistan and Egypt from the 70s can see that it rather has been a trend in the other direction, backwards into the Middle Ages.

Similarly, those who want to take part in Swedish history to see that Sweden has become much less liberated and open than before.

The more we are encouraged to hide behind veils, behind screens in the SFI classes and the gender-segregated communal bath, the greater will also be the native Swede affected and see himself with the other’s eyes.

Today, it is we who fled the repression victims. Soon affected the whole community."

And to cheer you up, here's two summer pics from France's Mediterranean coast:

Per Garry Trudeau, the women in the background belong to France's "powerless, disenfrachised minority" of muslims.

Flemish Minister of Public Works, Tourism and Animal Welfare Ben Weyts (NVA) (quite a portfolio, but then he is not a federal minister but a minister of the Flemish Region,in Belgium's north) recently stated categorically that the slaughtering of animals at the occasion of the impending feast of the sacrifice will happen according to Belgian (and European) laws, which stipulate that the animals have to be anesthesized.

48 muslim organizations in Flanders and Belgium have now published a so-called "offical notice of default" demanding that he revokes his decision, in the same breath threatening to charge him with "all damages" which should result if - fasten your seat belts - Weyts would use force of law to make Belgian muslims follow, well, Belgian law!

Via HLN Online:

 photo muslims_sue_weyts_zpsu5oggjjn.jpg

When I read that this morning, I did not know if I should laugh or cry.

It's evening now, and I tend towards the latter.

The situation is grotesque. Belgian (and European) law is crystal clear: no animals should be killed without being anesthesized. Like in every civilized country, animal welfare laws have over the past decades been put in place to ensure that animals do not suffer needlessly. And yet here we are, in 2015, and a staggering total of 48 muslim organizations (I was even unaware there were so many) are challenging an Interior Minister FOR THE MERE FACT...

.... that he is pointing out that Belgian Law should be respected.

I first meant to write now that "it doesn't get more insane than this" to mention the 48 organizations' second demand, namely that "the feast of the sacrifice be recognized as a Flemish cultural tradition", but I stopped from doing so because I'm pretty sure that it WILL get more insane than this.

As Belgium's catastrophic demographic trends continue to deteriorate, expect more, and more, and more, and more, and more of this.

An exerpt from The Hill:

"...In the fifth of a series of videos from the Center for Medical Progress, a woman identified as Melissa Farrell, director of research for Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, discusses contributing to the organization's "diversification of the revenue stream" and the potential to "get creative" with conditions for procurement needs. The video was reportedly filmed in April at a Planned Parenthood facility in Texas.
"Just depending on the patient's anatomy, how many weeks, where it's placed in the uterus ... we're going to potentially be able to have some that will be more or less intact and then some that will not be," she says.

"But it's something that we can look at exploring how we can make that happen so we have a higher chance," she adds.

"And we've had studies in which the company, or in the case of the investigator, has a specific need for a certain portion of the products of conception and we bake that into our contract, and our protocol, that we follow this. So we deviate from our standard in order to do that.

"If we alter our process and we are able to obtain intact fetal cadavers, then we can make it part of the budget, that any dissections are this, and splitting the specimens into different shipments is this. I mean, it's all just a matter of line items," she says...."

As per usual, Mark Steyn is on top of things:

"In other words, their priority is not a "woman's health needs" but a cleanly delivered "fetus" with the relevant "portion of the products of conception" intact - the leg, the liver, the heart, the lung, whatever it is the client has had "baked" into the contract. This is in itself a crime: You're not supposed to manipulate the abortion - and potentially cause more pain and discomfort to the woman - in order to get clean, sellable baby parts.

But, as Ms Farrell makes plain, at Planned Parenthood they see the woman less as a patient than as a supplier whose truck needs a bit of maneuvering to align at the loading dock.

Lovely. But it gets better. For the parts to be useful to the customer, you can't employ the customary pharmaceutical aids to abortion - the stuff that kills the "fetus" - because, if you do, all the parts you want to sell will be poisoned and valueless..."

Still not a peep from De Standaard, though you can be AB-SO-LU-TE-LY sure they know of this topic and its magnitude. By contrast, we all know about Cecil The Lion. A couple of days ago, they sported the headline :"ZIMBABWE WANTS EXTRADITION OF MURDERER CECIL THE LION".

 photo DS_cecil_de_leeuw_zpsjwaqx9on.jpg

By contrast, their buddies from Het Laatste Nieuws - just as left as De Standaard but less "sophisticated" DID cover the issue...

 photo hln_pp_murder_zpsqleek6jg.jpg

... deeming it necessary that we, the Great Unwashed, know that "celebs massively support Planned Parenthood".

You read that right. That screenshot I took above is from the AFAIK only column Het Laaste Nieuws spent on the case. In other words, what is important to know is not so much the outrageous fact that Planned Parenthood is illegally selling fetuses and part of fetuses for big money, BUT "that celebs massively support PP"!!! And who do they pick for illustrating their article? Why, Lena Dunham!!!

Sick, sick, sick!
