RECOMMENDED READS: ANDREA WIDBURG'S "POLYAMORY, SAYS THE LEFT, IS COOL - UNTIL THE MOST VULNERABLE AMONG US GET HURT".

Over at American Thinker, Andrea Widburg's column, by means of a sobering example, is yet one more illustration of the Left's reverse Midas Touch:

"The nuclear family, one with a married mother and father, has proven very successful in Western culture. Children benefit from a nurturing mother in the home and a successful father outside of the home. Children benefit as well from the different energies men and women bring to childrearing. This is not to say that nontraditional parenting cannot produce successful, happy children. It’s simply noting that, on the bell curve, the traditional nuclear family is the big fat part with the best results.

Small wonder, then, that the left has been out to destroy the nuclear family for seventy years. It started with the Kinsey report, which tricked Americans into believing that monogamous heterosexuality wasn’t normative but was, instead, a behavior that fell somewhere on a vast spectrum. The reality, which didn’t come out until decades later, was that Kinsey was a bisexual masochist whose “researchers” came from the fringes of society, including pedophiles, and who tended to interview people like themselves, grotesquely skewing the data.

With Kinsey as a template, though, the left has long pushed to normalize behavior that falls outside the nuclear family grouping. Probably the biggest act to break the nuclear family was creating the welfare state, which effectively made fathers superfluous, thereby destroying nuclear families in the black community.

Within too many black communities, single motherhood was the norm – and with single motherhood came the boyfriend. Sadly for children, there is no more dangerous person for a child than a mother’s boyfriend who has no biological tie to the child.*

Outside of the welfare state, leftist popular culture has worked hard to make nontraditional families seem “cool.” We’re told that we have to accept all of these nontraditional relationships lest we are considered “judgmental.” That edgy, cool, non-judgmental approach is why Tory Ojeda, a Florida resident, made the news last December:

~ A polyamorous woman in Florida with four partners is pregnant, and says despite sharing her bed with her many lovers, she’s certain of who the father is.

Tory Ojeda, 20, lives with three of her four partners in their Jacksonville, Fla., home. Marc, Travis, Ethan and Christopher take turns spending time with Ojeda, “swapping in and out” of her bed each night, she tells Barcroft Media.

The household’s love story began three years ago when Ojeda met Marc, 18, in high school. Two months later, she opened things up with Travis, 23 — to whom she is now engaged. Later, she brought Ethan, 22, and Christopher, 22, into the fold.

And despite her plans to get married to Travis, Ojeda said he’s not the father of her baby girl, due in February.

“Chris is the biological father,” she says. “We just know that because of timing and when the approximate conception date was. Based off of the approximate conception day, we had been on vacation. So it was only us.”

At day’s end, this living situation boils down to a baby girl sharing a home, not just with one man who’s not her biological father, but with three men who are not her biological fathers. You’ve probably guessed by now that this does not end well for that baby:

~ Ethan Baucom is charged with aggravated child abuse after a 5-week-old girl suffered multiple injuries, police said.

A 22-year-old Westside Jacksonville man told an officer he “needed to tell the truth” on March 17, according to his arrest report.

While much of the report about Ethan Bishop Baucom’s charge of aggravated child abuse has been redacted, one line is not.

“He stated he believed he heard a ‘pop’ during the occurrence,” the officer wrote in the report.

The 5-week-old girl’s grandmother gave more details in an email to The Times-Union, saying the baby suffered a broken leg, arm, ribs and skull fractures.

[snip]

Baucom told the responding detective that he was getting frustrated due to his inability to get any sleep while baby-sitting. At some point something happened that was blacked out in the report, and that’s when he said he heard the pop. The baby briefly ceased crying, then cried harder, he said.

Whenever leftists are advancing their policies, they argue that their positions are “for the children.” However, when it comes to destroying the traditional family, it’s most certainly not “for the children.” It's true that there’s no way to protect children entirely from immature, selfish, careless, or evil people. Still, we can tilt the odds in children’s favor if we place them in a traditional two-parent home with a biological father who has a genetic interest in seeing his offspring thrive. Ojeda went in the opposite direction and her baby paid the price."

To conclude, a telling graph. Married nuclear family (by which we assume of course a woman and a man, not the travesties they try to sell us as 'families') = LEAST abuse. Cohabiting parent = MOST abuse. That's with 'only' one partner. Now calculate in if there's FOUR partners.
