Mail Online:
"...Writing on online forum Mumsnet, Mrs Scottow – who has also been served with a court order that bans her from referring to her accuser as a man – claimed: 'I was arrested in my home by three officers, with my autistic ten-year-old daughter and breastfed 20-month-old son present.
'I was then detained for seven hours in a cell with no sanitary products (which I said I needed) before being interviewed then later released under investigation ... I was arrested for harassment and malicious communications because I called someone out and misgendered them on Twitter.'
Confirming the arrest, Hertfordshire Police said: 'We take all reports of malicious communication seriously.'
The case is the latest where police have been accused of being heavy-handed in dealing with people who go online to debate gender issues.
Sitcom writer Graham Linehan was given a verbal harassment warning by West Yorkshire Police after transgender activist Stephanie Hayden reported him for referring to her by her previous names and pronouns on Twitter.
It was complaints by Miss Hayden that led both to the arrest of, and injunction against, Mrs Scottow.
High Court papers obtained by The Mail on Sunday detail how Mrs Scottow is accused of a 'campaign of targeted harassment' against Miss Hayden, allegedly motivated by her 'status as a transgender woman'.
The papers claim that, as a 'toxic' debate raged online over plans to allow people to 'self-ID' as another gender, Mrs Scottow tweeted 'defamatory' messages about Miss Hayden.
She is also alleged to have used accounts in two names to 'harass, defame, and publish derogatory and defamatory tweets' about Miss Hayden, including referring to her as male, stating she was 'racist, xenophobic and a crook' and mocking her as a 'fake lawyer'.
Mrs Scottow denied harassing or defaming Miss Hayden and said she holds a 'genuine and reasonable belief' that a human 'cannot practically speaking change sex', but Deputy Judge Jason Coppel QC issued an interim injunction that bans her from posting any personal information about Miss Hayden on social media, 'referencing her as a man' or linking her to her 'former male identity'..."
As much as I try to feel empathy for people who feel like they were born in the body of a sex not their own, it should be stated emphatically that cutting off your dick and have it replaced by something resembling a vagina does NOT make you a woman. And vice versa. There's obviously a lot of suffering involved, and I also do think we cannot simply dismiss the urge to change your sex as a whim. It's sometimes quite obvious that destinies got screwed up hormonally.
Even so, again, one can undergo some sort of cosmetic surgery to have appendages of the opposite sex added but that's what it will remain - cosmetic changes. At best one can
resemble the opposite sex - but whether that's a service to the individual involved or society in general remains to be seen.
I must admit that with the enthusiastic transgenderism dada - the latest 'progressive' fad - the Left fooled me. I was convinced that after gay marriage and gay adoption the left would go full force for legalization of sex with children, in anticipation of their great happy marriage - or so they kid themselves - with their muslim allies.
But no, apparently that can wait for the moment. First advancement of the LGBTQ agenda. Of a more ominous nature however is the inexorable slide towards a police state, to quell dissent from normal people. With every passing day, it becomes clearer that the Left is aiming for a dictatorship. In few places in the developed world this is as obvious as in Britain. I am beginning to regard George Orwell as a visionary.
INGSOC is the name of the fictional political party in Oceania, more or less Britain and North America under a totalitarian government ruled by Big Brother in Orwell's novel 1984. It's that state's 'Newspeak' abbreviation for "English" and "Socialism".
Small Britain and the US are not a future homogenous totalitarian state yet, but leftists on either side of the pond are doing their damnedest best to crush dissent all right.
In the US, there's the surprising emergence of a figure like Donald Trump, who is becoming a beacon of hope for freedom-lovers everywhere.
But in Small Britain, INGSOC rule is indeed becoming a reality.
