TEN YEARS OF DOWNEASTBLOG!!!

It's the last day of February, so I have to be quick. DowneastBlog is feting it's tenth anniversary this month. Indeed, the very first post went up on February 11, 2003. Initially a project of three Mainers, Tom, Kerry and Scott, one of them, Kerry, hauled me on board somewhere in the autumn of 2003 after getting acquainted on some Iraq forum. So my posts proper did not start until later that year. Be that as it may, DowneastBlog was online as of FEB 2003. What I never envisaged at the time was that it would be me, the Belgian outsider, who'd keep the candle burning ten years on. After barely two years, both Tom and Kerry stopped posting. Scott held on a little longer. Anyway, I guess I still have to thank Tom for keeping this blog in the air.

So here I am, ten years and possibly about 1,800 of my own posts later. We never acquired a numerous readership. But I guess we must have a few aficionados. I don't regret anything I've written and stick to the basic validity of the judgments I have made over the years. I take nothing back. I haven't flipped ideologically, to the contrary. No about-turns. I'm as proudly conservative, if not more, than ten years ago. I'm convinced we have to carry on this fight - we, rightwingers - for we CANNOT allow the unholy alliance of the left, the watermelons and islam tear the very fabric of our society apart. Granted, it's an uphill battle. They have the media channels. They can keep fooling the bazillions of 'low-info' voters. But giving up is not an option.

Enough grand words for today. I'm sick (literally; even very, very sick. More about that in a couple of weeks). I'm dead tired. Still having to run my company in a very bad economic crisis (sales just about collapsed over the past months). But I have to carry on.

Nite.

NIGHTMARE ON ANTWERP'S STREETS.

A flying pig moment today over at Het Laatste Nieuws:

"HALF OF ALL THE PUPILS IN ANTWERP'S MUNICIPAL BASIC EDUCATION IS ENROLLED IN ISLAMIC COURSES"

"Currently, in Antwerp's municipal basic education net, a total of 5,165 students follow islamic religious courses. That's 49.3 per cent of the total number of students following one or another course dealing with religion or ethics. Second comes non-confessional morality with 2,907 students (27.7 per cent). Catholic lessons come in only third, with 2,152 students (20.5 per cent).

.... The numbers come from Vlaams Belang member of the municipal council Wim Van Osselaer, who asked Antwerp's town selectman for education, Claude Marinower (Open VLD) to provide them. The number of muslim students has been steadily on the rise for a couple of years. In 2007-2008 it was 'only' 33.6 per cent, according to Vlaams Belang it was 45.6 per cent in 2012. 'The spectacular rise of the number of muslim students in Antwerps educational net is frightening me' says Van Osselaer. 'Almost half of the students enlisted in Antwerps municipal educational institutions are now being raised in an islamic culture. All of them are thus to a certain degree influenced by islam, of which the norms are barely compatible (my translation) with human rights and our European freedoms"

May justice be done one day. That those responsible for importing this backward, murderous despicable 'religion' in our civilized world be punished. And punished severely.
