SATURDAY NIGHT PETER GABRIEL, U2.

Peter Gabriel with San Jacinto. From the 1983 album Plays Live.

Appeared first as a studio version on the 1982 album Peter Gabriel. But Plays Live is about the only live album where all songs sound WAY better than the originals. I got to know Plays Live through my rock mentor John D and was hooked on it from the moment I started listening.

U2 with Until the end of the World. Album Achtung Baby (1991).

Interesting guitars.

Slaap wel. Or have a nice day, if you happen to be my antipode.

MEET LINDA SARSOUR, JIHADIST U-BOAT.

Things move fast. Even though the 'Women's March against Trump' is only a couple of weeks ago, it has already faded from memory. Yet I feel I have to mention the irony of Linda Sarsour being one of the pivotal figures behind the event.

Over at The Gatestone Institute, Khadija Khan has a compelling article on this Ueber-Hypocrite and islamic U-Boat:

"Why do women who believe in equal rights for women, pick as their spokesperson someone who one minute boasts of her supposed dissent as "patriotism," while the next minute advocating chopping off other womens' genitals? It is like choosing a hangman to campaign against the death penalty, or the head of ISIS to campaign for same sex marriages.

The principles of "dissent," of which they claim to be so proud, and to have borrowed from religious sources, are actually the modern world's liberal values and human rights -- just those rights values they seem to be trying to destroy.

From the other side of their mouths, however, they are trying to impose Islamic sharia law on the West. Unfortunately, sharia is openly antagonistic to Western values and human rights.

How can cults that believe in dominating others call themselves progressive, when their entire message runs counter to the spirit of tolerance and social coexistence?

The champions of sharia have always said they wish to establish a "righteous" form of government, made by divine law, and presumably to that end, they implant their set of rules -- such as allowing no debate or criticism on their beliefs, or such as segregating sexes -- to destroy modern democracies.

It must be so convenient, while marching on Washington DC, to advocate that other women -- far away -- be genitally mutilated, married off in childhood, and domestically beaten and violated -- and all the while, in the safe confines of Washington, to stay silent on issues of truly massive abuse: floggings; acid burnings; chopping off limbs or heads, or burning, drowning or burying people alive.

These women in hijabs marching on Washington DC do not have to live in this "Utopia." They are comfortably living in the "infidel West', protected from such barbarity.

The values they are enjoying here are the values of the enlightened world and have nothing to do with the culture they are trying to impose on others.

The culture that is allowing women such as Linda Sarsour to shout into microphones is not even necessarily the culture these women believe in; it is often just the culture they are using to promote totalitarian ideas such as anti-Semitism, religious intolerance and the imposition of theocratic beliefs through infiltration or force.

The culture to which Sarsour says she aspires, allows mutilating women but does not allow women to speak in a loud tone, let alone speaking through microphones. Hence, she owes her current privileges to her American identity."

....

And in a tweet dated May 13, 2015, Linda Sarsour stated: "You'll know when you're living under Sharia Law if suddenly all your loans & credit cards become interest free. Sound nice, doesn't it?"

 photo Linda_Sarsour2_zpsy043e0d5.jpg

"... Then she wrote on an April 29, 2014 tweet: "@RobertWildiris I don't drink alcohol, don't eat pork, I follow Islamic way of living. That's all Sharia law is."

It would be nice if the only requirements of sharia were avoiding alcohol or pork were; there happens, however, to be an ocean of dos and don'ts that fall into the category of "I follow Islamic way of living."

The ocean Sarsour never bothered to mention, but that the world witnesses every day, exists from the Saudi palaces to the caves of Afghanistan and Raqqa.

The culture that Sarsour desires to impose on the world -- along with promises to waive interest on loans -- does not allow women to interact with unrelated men, drive cars, ride bicycles, attend sports events, leave the house without permission, or wear makeup and clothes that reveal their body parts, let alone address a crowd.

Women would also need four male witnesses to prove a rape, or risk being stoned to death for "adultery."

Does Sarsour really think that people have gone so mad that they will give up all of their civil liberties and freedom that their ancestors earned through the centuries, merely for interest free loans?

The hypocrisy is that her bold lifestyle in the US portrays that deep down, she herself loathes the suppressing conditions that she likes promoting for the poor women of the Muslim world who actually have to live with them."

 photo Linda_Sarsour_zpsei01wggd.jpg

As a final note on this despicable Sarsour character, read this article by Candice Malcolm at The Toronto Sun: "THE NEW FEMINIST LEFT ARE REGRESSIVE HYPOCRITES."

"... When the film Honor Diaries was released, Sarsour tried to suppress the film and delegitimize those involved with it. The film exposes violence against women in Middle Eastern societies, and tells the story of victims of this cultural violence.

Sarsour worked to discredit those involved the film, notably targeting activist Ayaan Hirsi Ali – herself was a victim of abuse and FGM. She said in a now-deleted 2011 tweet concerning Hirsi Ali and another women involved with the film "I wish I could take their vaginas away - they don't deserve to be women."

This is the new feminism; no longer a movement about equality. It is a movement about extremist politics. And Linda Sarsour is the face of it.

When Sarsour was exposed for her regressive comments that promote a culture of hate against women, the radical left came to her defence.

Bernie Sanders, Susan Sarandon, Mark Ruffalo and Naomi Klein all tweeted in support of Sarsour, as did organizations including Amnesty International, Black Lives Matter and the Southern Poverty Law Center.

The irony and hypocrisy of the new feminist left knows no bounds."

You bet it doesn't. Multiculti assholes going ballistic over a man who, admittedly, used locker room talk over women's private parts 15 years ago march arm in arm with monsters advocating mutilating these very same private parts.

That's today's left.

RECOMMENDED VIDEO: FRENCH POLICE FLEEING ASSAULT BY DOZENS OF 'YOUTHS'.

This looks a lot like 1940. Via Express:

A cop car is driving BACKWARDS at high speed to the right, as dozens of 'youths' attack from the left:

"Front National (FN) MP Marion Le Pen tweeted the jaw-dropping video recorded during demonstration after a man was allegedly raped by police.

She said: “Faced with the violence of scum, our police officers are forced to back off. Hurry up Marine and restore order to Bobigny.”"

The Dutch, French and German elections can't come soon enough.

THE JOYS OF MULTICULTURALISM: HEAVY RIOTING IN SAINT-DENIS, PARIS.

Re the alleged 'anal raping' of 'Théo' in Aulnay-sous-Bois by members of the French Police, it now seems nothing such ever happened, only that 'Théo' may have received blows with a baton against the legs and/or buttocks.

But of course, the apes in the video couldn't care less. It's so much more fun to destroy the country that offers them welfare, infrastructure, educational and medical facilities:

Via Gatestone Europe, we now also have sobering footage of riots in Paris Saint-Denis:

"New footage has emerged showing ‘French’ youths rampaging through a neighbourhood in the Paris district of Seine-Saint-Denis. The footage also shows youths throwing bricks through the window of what seems to be one of the district’s City Council buildings. One of the young men at 02:20 is also clearly carrying a (fake?) handgun.

The riots started last week after the alleged sodomization by the police of a French 22-year-old known only as ‘Theo‘. So far in Paris, 245 people have been arrested and elsewhere in France, 71 people were detained on charges of: “ambushing, voluntary acts of violence against public officials and law enforcers, voluntary degradation or participation in an armed assembly“."

Be sure to follow that link.

Yes, Europe definitely needs more immigration.

SAINT VALENTINE SONGS.

Hot Chocolate with It started with a kiss. Album Mystery (1982).

British soul/funkband, formed in 1968 around Errol Brown and Tony Wilson. HC is still around, though of the original cast only Patrick Olive remains. Which is amazing actually, since the band formed in 1968. Errol Brown is unfortunately no longer among us: he passed away in 2015.

Robert Palmer with Know by now. Album Honey (1994).

The Gentleman Rocker had style in spades.

Hope you have a great day with your sweetheart!

WALK OF SHAME: SWEDISH FEMINAZIS GROVEL IN THE DIRT FOR IRANIAN AYATOLLAHS.

There's a reason the Stockholm Syndrome isn't called the Warsaw Syndrome.

Via UN Watch:

 photo swedish_feminazis_zps58njhbgw.jpg

"GENEVA, Feb. 13, 2017 — In a statement that has gone viral on Twitter and Facebook, UN Watch, a non-governmental human rights NGO in Geneva, expressed disappointment that Sweden’s self-declared “first feminist government in the world” sacrificed its principles and betrayed the rights of Iranian women as Trade Minister Ann Linde and other female members walked before Iranian President Rouhani on Saturday wearing Hijabs, Chadors, and long coats, in deference to Iran’s oppressive and unjust modesty laws which make the Hijab compulsory — despite Stockholm’s promise to promote “a gender equality perspective” internationally, and to adopt a “feminist foreign policy” in which “equality between women and men is a fundamental aim.”

In doing so, Sweden’s female leaders ignored the recent appeal by Iranian women’s right activist Masih Alinejad who urged Europeans female politicians “to stand for their own dignity” and to refuse to kowtow to the compulsory Hijab while visiting Iran.

Alinrejad created a Facebook page for Iranian women to resist the law and show their hair as an act of resistance, which now numbers 1 million followers.

“European female politicians are hypocrites,” says Alinejad. “They stand with French Muslim women and condemn the burkini ban—because they think compulsion is bad—but when it happens to Iran, they just care about money.”

The scene in Tehran on Saturday was also a sharp contrast to Deputy Prime Minister Isabella Lövin’s feminist stance against U.S. President Donald Trump, in a viral tweet and then in a Guardian op-ed last week, in which she wrote that “the world need strong leadership for women’s rights.”

Trade Minister Linde, who signed multiple agreements with Iranian ministers while wearing a veil, “sees no conflict” between her government’s human rights policy and signing trade deals with an oppressive dictatorship that tortures prisoners, persecutes gays, and is a leading executioner of minors..."

Not even two weeks ago we reported on Swedish Vice PM Isabella Lovin mocking the Trump Administration with a photo on which she is seen signing a "Climate Act", accompanied by only female cabinet members and aides - because of a photo of Trump signing an executive order (meant to prohibit foreign funding of abortion in the US) whereby he was surrounded by men only.

How brave!

However, when it comes to dealing with Iranian ayatollahs, Swedish feminazis sing quite another tune. Via Gatestone Europe we learn of the deep chasm that exists between the feminist bravado and reality, when these wretched creatures come face to face with REAL mysoginists:

 photo swedish_feminazis2_zpsm8ajbm3n.jpg

The behaviour of this Swedish all-female delegation (well, almost. There seems to have been at least one "man" present) is simultaneously tragic and hilarious, given that the Swedish government's website proudly boasts:

"A FEMINIST GOVERNMENT.

~ Sweden has the first feminist government in the world. This means that gender equality is central to the Government’s priorities – in decision-making and resource allocation. A feminist government ensures that a gender equality perspective is brought into policy-making on a broad front, both nationally and internationally. Women and men must have the same power to shape society and their own lives. This is a human right and a matter of democracy and justice. Gender equality is also part of the solution to society’s challenges and a matter of course in a modern welfare state – for justice and economic development. The Government’s most important tool for implementing feminist policy is gender mainstreaming, of which gender-responsive budgeting is an important component."

Oh oh oh to be a fly on the wall when the Queen Boudicca's of the World's Humanitarian Superpower grovel in the dirt for men wearing robes! If it wouldn't be so utterly tragic, one would be pissing his pants big time!

I have no use for today's feminists.

A hundred years ago, Emily Davison threw herself under the King's horse for women's rights:

These days, they throw themselves in the dirt to appease old guys who see no problem in stoning adulterous women and sticking their dicks in underage girls.

WAY TO GO, SWEDEN!!!

THE JOYS OF MULTICULTURALISM: MASSIVE ANTI-POLICE RIOTS IN BOBIGNY, FRANCE.

Via The Sun:

The riots followed the alleged rape with a baton of a black youth by police. Even if this story was true - it just might, I haven't looked into it too closely, and besides, if police really did this, I doubt the victim was a choirboy - it would be no reason for 2,000 assholes to wreak havoc on an entire neighborhood.

It was not just blacks rioting. There's also reports of protesters shouting "Allahu Akbar":

Background here.

By all means, bring in more "refugees"!!!

SUCCESFUL STATIC FIRE TEST FOR SPACEX'S FALCON 9; LAUNCH DRAGON CAPSULE SCHEDULED FEB 18.

Via Florida Today, February 10, 2017:

"SpaceX on Friday afternoon lifted a Falcon 9 rocket vertical on Kennedy Space Center's pad 39A in preparation for an important test that could clear the way for a launch from the historic site on Feb. 18.

The so-called "static fire" test, planned as soon as Saturday, Feb. 11, will run the launch team through a countdown dress rehearsal. The rocket will be fueled and the countdown should culminate in a seconds-long firing of nine main engines while the rocket is held down on the pad.

The test could occur between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday, if pad and rocket systems are ready.

SpaceX is targeting a launch of the Falcon 9 and a Dragon capsule packed with International Space Station supplies around 10 a.m. Feb. 18. The mission will be the first launched from pad 39A since Atlantis blasted off in July 2011 on the shuttle program's final flight.

Schedule of upcoming Florida rocket launches

On Friday morning, a transporter rolled the Falcon 9 horizontally from a new hangar at the pad's base along rails up the pad stand. A hydraulic system lifted the rocket vertical in the afternoon.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk shared a picture on social media of the rocket standing on the pad NASA built in the 1960s for Apollo program moon launches.

"This is the same launch pad used by the Saturn V rocket that first took people to the moon in 1969," Musk wrote. "We are honored to be allowed to use it.""

As you may recall, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, together with its payload, a satellite Facebook wanted to use for Africa, exploded on its launching pad during a test last September at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

Apparently the inquiry into the problem that caused the explosion has been advanced sufficiently to resume launching Falcon 9's, and on JAN 14 there was already a successful launch of 10 Iridium satellites. Iridium satellites provide voice and data coverage to satellite phones, pagers and integrated transceivers over the entire surface of the planet. They are arrayed in six orbits of 11 satellites each.

The static test for the next mission, scheduled for later this week, would first have taken place on Saturday 11 FEB, but it was postponed to today, Sunday 12. And as I'm typing this, I just learned the test went well. Via Spaceflight Insider:

"KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. — Launch Complex 39A roared to life for the first time since the end of the Space Shuttle era, albeit for only a few seconds, as SpaceX conducted a static fire test of its Falcon 9 rocket.

Via a stream from Spaceflight Now, a plum of exhaust was seen on the north side of the pad indicating a successful test fire. SpaceX confirmed the test occurred minutes later via a tweet.

At 4:30 p.m EST (21:30 GMT) Feb. 12, 2017, the Falcon 9’s nine Merlin 1D engines ignited to ensure everything was operating as expected before the next week’s planned launch of the Commercial Resupply Services (CRS) 10 mission to the International Space Station.

The test involved a full countdown and fueling of the rocket. When the engines ignited, they fired a short 3.5-second burst before the flight computer automatically commanded an abort. SpaceX engineers will now pore over the data over the coming days to ensure all is well on the booster.

Liftoff for the CRS-10 mission is scheduled for 10:01 a.m. EST (15:01 GMT) Feb. 18. This will be the first launch from the complex since the final Space Shuttle mission, STS-135 in July 2011.

Once in orbit, the CRS-10 Dragon capsule will take about two days to reach the outpost. It will deliver 4,473 pounds (2,029 kilograms) of pressurized and 2,154 pounds (977 kilograms) of unpressurized cargo.

About nine minutes after liftoff, the first stage of the Falcon 9, after detaching from the second stage and its payload, will return back to nearby Cape Canaveral Air Force Station’s Landing Zone 1.

This will be the third time one of SpaceX’s Falcon 9 first stages will attempt a ground landing, rather than on a drone ship at sea. It will also be the first ground landing during daylight hours.

When CRS-10 does get off the ground, it will be the first East Coast launch since the Sept. 1, 2016, explosion in the minutes before a static fire test. The explosion destroyed the rocket and Amos 6 satellite it was carrying. Additionally, it severely damaged Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40), which is just south of LC-39A.

SpaceX has since resolved the issue that caused the accident and returned the Falcon 9 to flight. That launch, the Iridium-1 mission, took to the skies Jan. 14, 2017, from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.

After CRS-10, SpaceX will launch one of its last expendable Falcon 9 rockets when it sends the EchoStar 23 communications satellite into a geostationary transfer orbit. That mission currently has a no-earlier-than launch date of Feb. 28.

But what I am really looking forward to is the launching, later this year, of the Falcon Heavy, a variant of the Falcon 9 consisting of a standard Falcon 9 rocket core with two additional strap-on boosters, which are themselves derivatives from the Falcon 9 first stage. The Falcon Heavy will increase Low Earth Orbit (LEO) payload to a staggering 54.4 tonnes, compared to the 22.8 tonnes for a Falcon 9 full thrust. Via SpaceX's website:

Fascinating! Notice how nothing is lost, since all the boosters return to Earth and can be reused! This means that launching satellites will become significantly cheaper.
