SATURDAY NIGHT CHRIS RAINBOW, MASON WILLIAMS.

Night all of you who are still with DowneastBlog. Hypersorry again for the nonexistent blogging. It's not that I don't want to, it's just that I cannot seem to find the energy. Not wanting to complain - far from - but this year the new therapy and the lousy business situation are draining all my energy. I got CAR-T in January - I was hospitalized for three weeks in Louvain's university clinic, UZ Leuven - and this far in the year it looks like the treatment went exceptionally well, yet it's also rather tiresome. I hope I'm safe for another five or six years. Far more concerning is the near collapse of our main portfolio. Luckily we diversified our activities years ago but still, there's a huge crisis out there. For my small company it's been lasting for over a year now, and it's exceedingly difficult just to stay afloat.

Be all that as it may, I have to stay optimistic. It could still be worse. So I have Kahler's Disease, aka multipel myeoloma. Yet I've had it for fourteen years now and I'm still around and functioning, and there's a feeling that if I've lasted so long, perhaps I can manage the next years too. Six years now till the last company building is paid back and then I liquidate my business and hopefully - HOPEFULLY - by that time I still have a couple of years left to embark on what I really want to do: writing books and installing that observatory on top of my house.

Anyway, here's Chris Rainbow with Be Like a Woman, from the 1979 album White Trails.

Chris Rainbow, real name Christopher James Harley, was a Scottish pop rock singer-songwriter and musician (unfortunately deceased in 2015 already), whose 1979 song Be Like a Woman gained him posthumous fame when TikTok exposed it to the world in late 2025. In fact, it led to Rainbow's first entry on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 92.

For our No. 2 tonight we have Mason Williams with Classical Gas. Released as a single from The Mason Williams Phonograph Record (1968).

Mason Douglas Williams (born August 24, 1938) is an American classical guitarist, composer, singer, writer, comedian, and poet. At 88 now, still alive and kicking.

Nite.
