DR DAVID VINER, CLIMATE RESEARCH UNIT, UNIVERSITY OF EAST ANGLIA, 2000: 'SNOWFALLS ARE NOW JUST A THING OF THE PAST.'

Yes, they've been fooling us that long. Far longer, actually. When I was a kid, we had to study the conclusions of the Club of Rome, an outfit of ecoweirdos according to whom the planet would run out of, oh, basically everything a healthy capitalist society needs by 1985 or so. Anyway, I picked this 2000 The Independent article because it's such fun to rub the watermelons' noses in their sheer folly. The article quotes, amongst others, a certain Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist of the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, as saying that 'within a few years winter snowfall will become a very rare and exciting event. Children just aren't going to know what snow is.'"

Meanwhile, in the real world....

You will recall that the CRU of the University of East Anglia is such a paradigm of scientific prowess and infallibility that its head, Phil Jones, was forced to resign a couple of years back over the tinkering with data to mask a.o. the MWP (Medieval Warm Period).

We're 2013 now, and STILL the ecobozos wield considerable power. How on earth is that actually possible???
