NOT. The above is a screenshot from daily Het Laatste Nieuws Online, last Sunday. HLN asks its readers: "Should the government ratify the UN Migration Pact?" I myself emphatically answered "NO" and after my vote was cast I got the results thus far: a staggering 73 per cent AGAINST the government signing the UN Migration Pact in a sample of 30,800. Statistically, that's quite relevant.

Belgian PM Charles Michel [MR, for Mouvement Réformateur, the francophone Liberals, over here in Belgium soi-disant center right but eminently comparable with US Democrats; MFBB] flew to Marrakech, Morocco over the weekend as Prime Minister of a minority government since on Saturday the N-VA [Nieuw-Vlaamse Alliante, profiling itself as Vlaams Belang Lite; MFBB] withdrew its ministers. The so-called 'Swedish coalition' with as main components the Walloon and Flemish Liberals ("blue") and the salonfaehige Flemish nationalists from N-VA ('yellow') is no more.

As of this moment the dust of the political turmoil hasn't settled yet. The factors at play and the nuances of this or that stance are many and presumably unclear or confusing for the population, let alone non-Belgians.

A few key points:

a.) Charles Michel, as PM of a new minority government, signed in Marrakech a document that in effect betrays his own population, by handing the reins of any Belgian immigration policy to a supranational organization - the UN - of which the raison d'être becomes increasingly dubious. All the bruhaha about the non-binding character of the UN Compact for 'safe, orderly and (above all) regulated' migraton is just a smokescreen/stepping stone towards further finetuning of member states' policies to full legally binding implementation. Also, the nuances of whether or not the Pact's articles are binding will be lost on Mohammed, his 4 wives, and his 17 children, currently packing their coffers in Nouakchott.

b.) N-VA made a bold stance which almost led to the fall tout court of the government, which would have been far better than wat played out now. It should however be remembered that the ONLY reason N-VA profiled itself so anti-UN Migration Pact is because Vlaams Belang threw the issue on the table in Parliament and the many disadvantages to the ordinary Belgian citizen (and the non-existence of any advantage whatsoever) became suddenly clear.... again, check out the poll above). In the same breath, the Vlaams Belang exposed the hypocrisy of N-VA since their Immigration Minister, Theo Francken, a man notorious for tough tweets and soft nonactions, had earlier this year been to Morocco for the pact's draft and was in complete agreement with the text. As mentioned before, the stellar performance of the Vlaams Belang in the recent municipal elections has obviously frightened N-VA (especially with the federal elections in May at the horizon), which for its mere relevance relies on the votes it siphoned off the typical VB electorate.

c.) By not objecting to the draft of the UN Global Compact from the get-go - au contraire, contributing to it during the 'Rabat Process' - the N-VA got us in this mess in the first place, and as such it now has a moral obligation to put all its weight, together with Vlaams Belang, into an investigation by Belgium's highest court into the legitimacy of Michel's 'government' signing a document which will spell doom for the country while not even representing a third of the population.

Unfortunately, I have no time to elaborate, I will try to flesh it out, but here is the scoundrel who just signed Belgium's suicide pact - with a smile. Via HLN:

No, it won't, she-man ARSEHOLE. Far from it. In 2015 that horrible excuse for a Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel publicly broadcast to the world that the Syrian refugees were 'willkommen', even though right next door super-rich oil states sat on their asses, constructing tent cities with airco for MILLIONS for the yearly pilgrimage to Mecca. For at least 1.5 million Mohammeds, Ahmeds and Alis from Niger to the Hindu Kush this invitation did not fall on deaf ears and the result was a migration wave of Biblical proportions of wifebeaters, clitoridectomists, potential and real terrorists, and unemployable illiterates Richtung Heimat and, by extension, the whole of Europe. The continent is still reeling from it and will be for quite some time, I fear.

Frau Merkel obviously decided that you can just as well snuff out a forest fire with gasoline as long as the volume you drop on it resembles the Bodensee, and like a Jamie Gorelick on steroids immediately proceeded to go global with the Merkel approach, drafting, together with that other walking disaster Louise Arbour, a plan whereby the flotsam of the Third World gets a green pass for Western pastures. The US dodged that bullet - that anti-tank round, actually - because it has a President and an administration which put Americans first.

Not so Europe, where the globalist 'elites' were apparently unable to discern that the firewomen were, in fact, the arsonists themselves. Absent the sane heads in Eastern Europe, Austria and Italy, our traitors jetted off to a muslim country, no less, to officially erase our borders. CONGRATS bastards! Granted, you'll be on some side of history, but the right one it ain't!

As for Belgium, we on the right must now double our efforts to win big, and I mean BIG, in the May federal elections. Here's hoping that the VB will achieve a monster score. For those waking up among the socialist, liberal and 'Christian' 'Democrat' electorate, but still so deluded that VB remains a no-no, they can vote N-VA. With regards to the latter party however, it is clear that De Wever and Francken should be ousted, because:

a.) Even before Marrakech, Francken had, as Immigration Minister, proven himself to be a complete and utter failure.

b.) They have exposed themselves to be hypocrites of the first order since they were fully prepared and eager to sign the UN monstrosity and only refrained from doing so because they were called out by Vlaams Belang.

c.) they are adamantly against lifting the undemocratic 'cordon sanitaire' around VB, thereby, although pretending to want to solve the Belgian conundrums, in effect pursuing a policy that perpetuates them. If N-VA and VB would go together, THAT would signify political leverage unseen in the Belgian arena. By contrast, for six years N-VA hasn't stopped from spitting in the VB's faces, while it's crystal clear they should be on the same side of the fence. Because Vlaams Belang has offered time and again to cooperate, only to be ungraciously snubbed by in particular Bart De Wever, N-VA and N-VA alone is wholly responsible for the fractured state of the Belgian political right. And thus for the fact that no effective rightwing, and thus sane, policy is possible on a variety of issues.

Modigliani's art remains unique and unclassifiable, but if anything, one could posit that West African art (from the old kingdoms on territories in present-day Gabon, Nigeria, Benin, Cameroon) inspired his hallmark, the elongated human form.

Excellent piece by Jack Hellner over at American Thinker:

"Washington Post columnist Catherine Rampell, and many other supposed journalists, repeatedly write about economics as if they know what they are talking about. Problem is, they repeatedly show how ignorant they are.

Of all the things she could possibly say about the late President George H.W. Bush as his funeral goes on, she compliments the man for calling President Reagan’s tax cuts “Voodoo Economics." It's absurd. President George H.W. Bush fully embraced the Reagan Revolution as his loyal vice president and his legacy of greatness is at least partly connected to Reagan's.

But Rampell is still stuck on the campaign rhetoric of 1980, where Reagan and Bush competed for the Republican candidacy and Bush used the term 'voodoo economics' to unseat Reagan, something the voters didn't buy. Bush was apparently willing to forget about that, as he embraced being Reagan's running mate. But Rampell talks of that fleeting moment as if it were the only immutable truth. In the following column, Rampell says that it is crazy and ridiculous for anyone to claim that you could increase tax revenue by cutting taxes:



~ But Bush was end-of-an-era in another crucial way. He might well be the last Republican leader to acknowledge the fundamental fraud of Republican fiscal policy: that tax cuts do not pay for themselves.

Bush was referring to supply-side policies that claimed tax cuts for the rich would unleash so much growth they would generate enough revenue to fund themselves.



Characterizing Reaganomics as “voodoo” was colorful, yes, but it wasn’t crazy. Of course it was ridiculous to claim you could increase tax revenue by cutting taxes.

How little she remembers. The fact is, Ronald Reagan inherited an economic disaster when he came into office in 1981. We had double-digit inflation, double-digit interest rates and double-digit unemployment.

When Reagan took office, he along with Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker worked to wring the double-digit inflation and double-digit interest rates out of the economy. That required double-digit interest-rate hikes and for awhile, it was bitter medicine. But he also worked to wring big government out of the economy. By 1984, he cut the top income tax rate from the punishing 70% to 28%. In fiscal year 1983, federal revenues were $601 billion. By fiscal 1989, they were $991 billion. I would say that all the people who do not acknowledge that Reagan’s supply-side, (or more derisively, 'trickle down' or 'voodoo') economics worked are the crazy ones. If not the liars.

The Bush II tax-cuts-and-government revenue example is even more recent, and possibly an even better example of supply economics at work. Rampell should be aware of that, too. Bush II inherited a recession and a collapsed stock market. In fiscal 2000, the government collected $2.03 trillion in revenues. For three straight years, revenues dropped, and by FY 2003, they were down to $1.72 trillion. Bush got his substantial tax cuts for individuals passed in May 2003 and by FY 2004 revenues were rising again. By FY 2007 they were up to $2.55 trillion. Revenues were up around 50% in four short years because of the tax cuts allowing people to keep more of the money they earned.

Why won’t Rampell and other stenographers report the truth instead of Democrat talking points?

Scroll over to 2018, which is the first year since 2005 that the U.S economy is expected to grow 3% for the year. It is not a coincidence that the results from both years occurred after substantial tax cuts. One of the best things President Trump and the Republicans did was to make the corporate tax cuts permanent to take out the uncertainty. They would have also made the individual tax cuts permanent except for the lack of support from any Democrats as the media, almost in unison, took the Democrats' position. If the Congressional Budget Office would just look at historical facts, they also wouldn’t have come up with the fictional $1.5 trillion "cost.""

SERIOUS RISK OF BELGIAN GOVERNMENT FALLING OVER UN MIGRATION PACT.

Since some ten days Belgium is in political turmoil, and there is a serious risk of the government collapsing, as the Flemish coalition partner N-VA is claiming it won't go to Marrakech to sign the UN Migration Pact, while the Walloon "liberals" MR - the party of PM Charles Michel - and their Flemish counterparts Open VLD insist it is necessary. The right-wing N-VA party started a social media campaign against the migration pact Tuesday, more than two months after Prime Minister Charles Michel pledged he would sign the pact for Belgium at a meeting next week in Marrakech, Morocco.

Instead of a coalition breakup, Michel announced late Tuesday he would take the issue to parliament for vote in the days to come.

“I want parliament to have its say,” Michel said, staving off an immediate collapse of the government that has been in power for three years. “I have the intention to go to Marrakech and let the position of the parliament be known.”

Michel’s statement came at the end of a hectic day dominated by an anti-pact social media campaign by the N-VA, of the biggest coalition partner.

The in-your-face campaign featured pictures of Muslim women with their faces covered and stated the U.N. pact focused on enabling migrants to retain the cultural practices of their homelands.

De Wever apologized for the pictures of women wearing face-covering niqab in western Europe, but immediately added “these pictures are not fake. You can take pictures like this every day in Brussels. It is the stark reality.”

Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel pledged at United Nations headquarters in September that he would go to a meeting in Marrakech, Morocco where the U.N.’s Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration is to be signed next week."

After that interrogation, things went crescendo, and N-VA suddenly turncoated 180 degrees, to the extent that they now vehemently oppose the UN's "Global Compact for Safe , Orderly and Regular Migration".

I say 180 degrees, and that's not a word too much. BECAUSE half a year ago, prior to summer recess, WHO do we find in Morocco, after having read the draft of the UN Pact and approving it, and cheering along with ministers and dignitaries of a host of African nations ? Praising à volonté the beneficial effects of said pact? Why, Theo Francken, N-VA! The following scans are from VB-Magazine, AUG/SEP edition and they speak bookmarks. Francken is the thirtysomething bald guy in the photos, and as you can see at that point in time he had no qualms whatsoever ratifying a sham of a pact, which boils in effect down to throwing the doors of Western Europe WIDE OPEN to the Third World and allowing human flotsam from Mauritania to Pakistan to go shopping for free in our social security systems!








So what happened??? Why the sudden N-VA U-turn?

Simple.

The October municipal elections.

In which the Vlaams Belang made a BIG comeback, doubling its score compared to the 2012 ballot. Courtesy N-VA voters coming back to the real thing.

Indeed, it was a big comeback, not only by attracting new sympathizers, but primarily by convincing former VB voters to abandon the N-VA again and return to the stable. N-VA is a Janus party, supposedly VB Lite but in reality hypocrites on steroids. Saying one thing, doing the exact opposite behind the screens. In too many dossiers to sum up, N-VA simply threw its 2012 promises in the trashcan and thought it could get away with it. Well, it seems like the old adage that you can't fool a lot of people all the time still holds up.

And next year there will be federal elections. If the results of the municipal elections are anything to go by, N-VA is slated to lose even more voters to the VB.

Thus, the sudden change of heart of the N-VA as regards the UN Migration Pact.

And the ball got rolling because of... Vlaams Belang.

There is no way to tell whether the Michel government will or will not, in the end, head for Marrakech and sell out the country. These traitors are capable of anything.

But one thing is for sure, I for one am MIGHTY PROUD of my party, the VB. Excluded from Belgian politics for three decades by the wholly undemocratic 'cordon sanitaire', having had to endure forty plus years of smear, slander, falsehoods, outrageous lies, baseless accusations, media blackouts and kangaroo courts...

... and yet still capable of throwing a serious wrench in the works and plans of a globalist government which had every intention to betray its population.

Investigators had found the body on Sunday evening in an urban shelter for refugees and homeless people in Sankt Augustin in North Rhine-Westphalia. “The accused admits to exercising violence against her,” said the Bonn Attorney General Robin Faßbender on Monday. Because of manslaughter, a judge issued arrest warrant against the 19-year-old, who has the German and Kenyan citizenship."

Fischer-Z formed in Uxbridge in 1976 and is supposedly still around too. BTW, if you ever wondered where the name comes from, it's a statistical term coined or introduced or whatever by Ronald Aylmer Fisher, famous statistician, population genetics pioneer, and winner of the prestigious Copley Medal. His Fisher Z-Transformation is a way to transform the sampling distribution of Pearson’s r (i.e. the correlation coefficient) so that it becomes normally distributed. Not that it won't matter much anymore, since the Bundestag, the German parliament, last week convincingly voted FOR signing the suicide pact. Indeed, on Thursday 372 MP's voted for supporting the pact, and only 153 against. There were 141 abstentions. In a country that has had to endure such an enormous mayhem from invading muslim hordes post Merkel's insane 2015 Open Door policy, such an overwhelming support for a pact that will only lead to more of the same is a clear sign that the rot has set in among the authochton population as well. Certainly, more Europeans than before realize the continent is now a slippery slope; but on the other hand, the refusal to punish those responsible is indicative of a broader nihilism without precedent which, certainly in Germany, still manages to snuff out the dissenters. Too many Germans - too many Europeans, for that matter - don't even care anymore whether their country and/or continent goes down the drain.

More info has come out about the origin of the dreaded document. In a perverse way, Merkel flooding the country with millions of unassimilable Third Worlders seems to have been the main impetus behind drafting the pact, as Michael Stuerzenberger reports in PI-News:

Angela Merkel, Europe's own Jamie Gorelick, be it on steroids, can be compared to an arsonist who burns down a city block, and then manages to convince the Fire Department to stack combustibles in the surrounding blocks as an effective means to prevent the entire city burning down.


And one gruesome witch found another to prepare their mortal cocktail. Merkel found an ally in Louise Arbour, the Canadian extreme leftist and antisemitic UN Migration commissioner:

As has been repeatedly suspected, the German government has obviously had the overall lead behind the scenes of this pact right from the start.

As Wolfram Weimer writes in an article on n-tv, under the chairmanship of German and Moroccan diplomats, politicians and various interest groups had met in 2017 and 2018 at several events of the "Global Forum on Migration and Development" (GFMD). With the help of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the GFMD had played a key role in formulating the Marrakesh Paper. On the GFMD website, the summit in Morocco is declared the " Highlight " of the "global migration community" for the establishment of "general principles and legally enforceable obligations" of migration."

You may recall Arbour. Watch her in this Munk Debate video confronting her and historian Simon Shama with Mark Steyn and Nigel Farage debating the 'global refugee crisis':





Mark Steyn handed Arbour her fat ass in that one. But unfortunately, in today's world there are far more Arbours than Steyns.

I could have borrowed another British Mountaineering vid but I figure not everyone is interested in people sweating their asses off just to scale Ben Lomond or Beinn Chìochan or whatev and besides, I might actually induce people to do just that. Upon which sooner or later they would find themselves on top, asking themselves 'WTF am I doing here' and cursing that weirdo in Belgistan. Worse, some might even fall down a cliff and DIE, which wouldn't be such a problem if the reader in question was a leftist or a greenie but firstly he/she/xe might also be rightwing in which case it would be a shame and second I don't think there's many of the former category to begin with.

So, no mountain videos, no artsy fartsy posts either that's for Sunday (weather permitting), AND it's not Saturday yet so no boring Gen X music either. I'll just post an Answers with Joe video (hat tip OutlawDaughter) and since I am surrounded day and night by freaks I thought his post about the most inbred people of all time would be a good start. In The Netherlands too, there's a debate going on about whether or not to sign the UN Migration Pact, but only because PVV and FvD have brought the issue to the table. If they had not raised awareness, the Dutch government delegation would have flown to Morocco in the first week of December and the Dutch would have known they were screwed only on DEC 12.


It's a crying shame that, apart from Geert Wilders and Thierry Baudet, so damn few - if any - of The Netherlands' top dogs in politics are speaking out against the UN's 'Global Compact for Migration'. What struck me over the past weeks is that the only other one to raise his voice was the very respected former VVD politician like Frits Bolkestein: ex State Secretary for Economy, ex Minister of Defense, ex European Commissioner for the Internal Market and... octogenarian.

Bolkestein is the eminence grise of Dutch politics. If you thought his resume as a career politician was impressive, how about his formative years:

"Bolkestein attended the Barlaeus Gymnasium in Amsterdam from 1945 to 1951, where he majored in both arts and sciences. Upon completing his gymnasium education, he was an undergraduate in mathematics at Oregon State College from 1951 to 1953. Subsequently he went to the University of Amsterdam, where he received a BSc degree in mathematics and physics in 1955.[2] In 1959 he received a MA degree in philosophy and Greek from the same university. Bolkestein subsequently received a BSc degree from The London School of Economics in 1963, and an LLM degree from Leiden University in 1965."

In a normal world, if an indvidual like Bolkestein speaks, the others listen. But this is far from a normal world. In place of the Bolkesteins have come ignorant twats like the Dutch PM Mark Rutte, who can't wait to sign this suicide pact:





Sign of the times. The childless Rutte is going to allow the Dutch dykes to break and flood his entire country with Third World flotsam, thereby destroying everything that made this small country on the North Sea so admirable.

Will the Dutch wake up in time and send a strong signal to their government that they don't want to commit suicide as a nation?

Honestly, I doubt it.

STOP MARRAKESH!

In the Netherlands, one of the most vocal parties against the sham that is the UN's 'Global Compact for Migration' is the small rightwing Forum voor Democratie party, founded in 2015 by Thierry Baudet, some kind of a Geert Wilders light with more emphasis on rightwing ideology. I would rather see the PVV absorb the FvD since the fracturing of all rightwing forces serves, in my humble opinion, no useful purpose, but so be it.





Just like Geert Wilders and his PVV, the FvD warns emphatically against a UN "Pact" that will inevitably lead to a massive Third World migration - or rather, invasion - towards/of the West. It will in time lead to the death of our societies: if you import the Third World, you become the Third World.





FvD invites you to sign the petition to "Stop Marrakesh", shorthand for the UN Migration Pact, since that Moroccan city is where the pact will be signed by all those foolish, corrupt, cynical or calculating enough to believe it will serve a useful purpose.

DR. TURLEY ON THE UN MIGRATION PACT SHAM - ITALY ALSO OPTING OUT.

Dr Stephen Turley, who is often featured on Gates of Vienna, has a thing or two to say about the sham that is UN Migration Pact.





It took a very long time - too damn long, in my opinion - for people who should know it earlier and better than your humble servant to reject this horrible free pass for the Third World into Western countries. The latest positive news in this regard is that Italy will also not sign this latest thinly veiled attack on the sovereignty of our nations. Via Ansa:

"(ANSA) ITALY NOT SIGNING GLOBAL COMPACT - SALVINI

~ Rome, November 28 - Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Matteo Salvini said Wednesday that Italy will not take part in an intergovernmental conference in Marrakech next month to adopt the United Nations Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.

"Just like the Swiss, who carried forward the Global Compact up until yesterday and then said 'everyone stop', the Italian government will not sign anything and will not go to Marrakech," Salvini told the Lower House.

"The floor of parliament must debate it. The Italian government will allow parliament to decide". Premier Giuseppe Conte also said the government will not do anything until parliament has expressed a view.

"The Global Migration Compact is a document that raises issues and questions that many citizens have strong feelings about," Conte said.

"Therefore, we consider it right to put the debate in parliament and subject any final decision on the outcome of that debate, as Switzerland has done.

"So the government will not participate in Marrakech, reserving the option to adopt the document, or not, only when parliament has expressed its opinion"."

Whether the movement to reject it will gain sufficient steam before DEC 10/11 remains to be seen. Key is, that the populations of developed countries, especially the western ones, are informed in time by alternative channels, so that they can express their righteous anger to their coward and irresponsible politicians. DON'T count on our media, choke full of leftists and greens - they have deliberately refused to give this issue the attention it merits because they know full well people would holler and scream if they got so much as a brief summary of what's inside the 'Global Compact'.

So get the word out! Inform yourself, and talk to your family, friends, colleagues about it!

WATERMELON MAYOR OF AMSTERDAM FEMKE HALSEMA: "I WILL NOT ENFORCE THE GOVERNMENT'S BURQA BAN"

Via Tech2, a Dutch internet news outlet:

"Mayor Femke Halsema of Amsterdam will not cooperate in enforcing a ban on face-covering clothing in the capital. She said that on Friday evening at a meeting with young people in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. "You can be sure that I will not allow Amsterdam to follow suit."

The Senate voted in June with a bill that prohibits the wearing of face-covering clothing in educational and healthcare institutions, government buildings and public transport. Those who do not comply with the ban risk a fine of 410 euros. Minister Kajsa Ollongren (Home Affairs, D66), who is responsible for introducing the 'burqa ban', has not yet set an effective date.

Mayor Halsema, who talks about public order, now says he does not want to cooperate in enforcing the ban:

"It does not fit with Amsterdam that we take women out of the tram because they carry a nikab. That is not negotiable? "

The plan for a burqa ban is originally from Geert Wilders (PVV) and was then taken over by the Rutte I and II cabinets. It concerns a prohibition on wearing burkas, nikabs, balaclavas and full-face helmets."

Femke Halsema is a prominent member of the Dutch Greens. One wonders what it is with these self-proclaimed heroines of the left whose political stance is more than anything else centered around the 'fight' against that dreaded 'white patriarchy'. Yet they have no qualms aiding and abetting an utterly mysoginistic politico-religious doctrine which since its inception 1,400 years ago has treated women at the very best like second rate citizens.

Unfortunately, Halsema is no isolated case. Indeed, in a frightening number of cases, mayoral posts in important European cities are taken in by women of leftist/green signature who can reliably be counted upon to accommodate their muslim constituents, of which the men are notorious for their far more dominant concept of 'patriarchy' vis-à-vis cowed and pussified western males.

Take, for example, Anne Hidalgo, the far-left Mayor of Paris aka Shitville.





The photo shows Hidalgo in typical dhimmi pose with the notorious muslim grand rector of Paris, Dalil Boubakeur. Boubakeur is the one who suggested that thousands of underattended or empty French churches be converted to mosques, and who stated emphatically that muslim identity transcends national (read French) identity. He also actively campaigned pro Macron, and it is practically a given that the latter became French President not only per the votes of gullible milennials, but also, just as importantly, thanks to the muslim votes. Actually, one can state with near certainty that just as was the case with Macron's predecessor, François Hollande, it was the determining factor.

SATURDAY NIGHT TOM PETTY, JAMES LAST.

A solo album, although a couple of Heartbreakers contributed. Ah Tom Petty, why did you have to go to Heaven, leaving us so soon, can't you trade places with, say, Madam Ciccone? Oh wait, no. Of course you can't.


Last Sunday, as I approached Baraque Michel, the radio suddenly opened up with a marvellous instrumental I hadn't heard for decades, and my daughter and I enjoyed it during the last three kloms before the parking lot and the starting point of our walk. As we drove along an N68 boarded on both sides by High Fens woods in blazing autumn colours, against the dazzling azure backdrop of a perfect November sky, it seemed like the perfect accompaniment. I could only tell OutlawDaughter it was a famous seventies tune, but that sufficed for her to Google and find it that very evening, using only the keywords 'seventies', 'instrumental', and 'pan flute'. The piece was a James Last hit from 1977, "Der Einsamer Hirte" (The Lonely Shepherd), taken from the album Russland Erinnerungen. James Last is, or rather was (the man died in 2015), the stage name of one Hans Last, post World War II a very prolific German composer and big band leader. A former Wehrmachtsangehoerige too, since as a teenager he delivered air raid messages in his home city of Bremen and entered the Bueckeburg Militaerische Musikschule where he learned to play bass, tuba and piano. In the sixties and especially the seventies he was tremendously successful, despite (or because of) the majority of his music being rather corny. I could have hit myself the moment our daughter refreshed my memory, since I suddenly recalled my parents having stacks and stacks of James Last albums, how was it possible I never noticed The Lonely Shepherd figured on one of these? But then I was a musical illiterate back then, fooling myself that listening to Earth and Fire's Weekend or The Police's Roxanne put me in another (read higher) league than people enjoying the bearded King of Corn. Anyway, here it is:





More reason to thump myself on the head. Also in the late seventies I spectacularly flunked music theory despite the able tutorship of Jan Van Caneghem, and this is why I am barely able to comprehend Der Einsamer Hirte's sheet music:





The trademark sound of the melody is the pan flute of course, which made Gheorghe Zamfir famous, but personally I like the wind instruments (making their entry at the 1:41 mark) more, and the effortless grace of the violins setting in at around 2:08 is pure heaven.

An excellent overview of what a high quality rendition of this piece requires can be found in the following performance by André Rieu and his 60-strong Johann Strauss Orchestra, live in Bucharest, Romania last year. As you can see it's heavy on string instruments, especially violins. And if I'm not mistaken de small group of ladies at the right play celloes, while the gents in the upper left use double bass.

HUNGARY BLUNTLY CALLS A SPADE A SPADE: "THE GOAL OF THE UN GLOBAL COMPACT FOR MIGRATION IS TO LEGALISE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION".

From the website of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade:

“The goal of the UN Global Compact for Migration is to legalise illegal immigration, which is totally unacceptable and violates the sovereignty of member states, including that of Hungary”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó declared at a press conference in Budapest on Thursday.

“According to the Government, the Global Compact is an extremely and biasedly pro-immigration document, which is both harmful and dangerous”, Mr. Szijjártó said.

“The UN is making the same mistake as the European Union, which wants to base its own migration policy on mandatory resettlement quotas. The UN Compact is more dangerous, however, because it is a global initiative, meaning it will have a greater effect than continental policy, and represents a risk to the whole world”, the Minister added.

“The main point of argument with relation to the Compact is whether or not it is mandatory, and in view of the fact that the document contains the word obligation on eighty occasions, the claim that it only includes recommendations is a false one”, Mr. Szijjártó declared.

As an example, he said that according to the document, countries must commit themselves to informing migrants with relation to migration routes and launch information campaigns for those who want to leave their homes. “They must also undertake to facilitate family reunification for migrants, and not punish migrants for cooperating with people smugglers, not even if they have crossed a border illegally, in addition to which they must also be obliged to provide migrants with the same services as received by the citizens of the given country”, Mr. Szijjártó listed.

“A legally not binding document would not prescribe the establishment of national action plans, and accordingly it is ‘clearer than day’ that, just like the originally voluntary mandatory quota, the Global Compact for Migration will become a point of reference, mandatory, and the basis for international judicial decisions”, the Minister said.

“This is why Hungary decided to not even take part in the adoption process, thus making it clear that it does not regard the document as binding in any way and in any form with regard to Hungary”, he stated.

“There are also major efforts in Europe to create mixed societies, and for nations to distance themselves from their own identities culturally, with relation to their heritage, and religiously”, he said. “But we, for instance, would like to keep calling Christmas Christmas, and to continue to celebrate as we have always done so”, Mr. Szijjártó said.

Eight countries have decided not to support the Compact, which according to the state of the current situation, the UN General Assembly will vote on before the end of this year, and Hungary will be voting no”, the Minister said.

The following transcript of a text which originally appeared in a 1992 book by Rush Limbaugh is not per se meant for American eyes, neither those on the Right who have probably heard it ten times over or more, nor those on the Left because I am not making myself illusions about their capacity to get out of stuck on stupid.

No, this text is principally meant for people OUTSIDE the US, courtesy of RushLimbaugh.com:

"Now, normally, ladies and gentlemen, I save the annual reading of the true story of Thanksgiving from my second book, See, I Told You So, to close the end of the third hour of the program today. I have found that I become so expansive and I begin to ad-lib and add various observations to the reading that I find myself in a hurried state trying to finish it. So I think I’m going to open this hour with the reading of the Real Story of Thanksgiving. It’s important to do it each and every year.

When I discovered what it was when writing the book, I learned that even I as a young boy had not been told the entire truth of the first Thanksgiving, and the story I was told was somewhat mild. Over the years, it got worse and worse and worse. I could probably sum it up by saying that the story of Thanksgiving as generally taught in the American public school system was that a bunch of haggard people from Britain arrived at a desolate spot at a very cold time of the year and didn’t know what the hell they were doing and didn’t know where they were and had no idea how to live.



And then they met some Indians, some Native Americans, and the Indians saved them. The Indians showed them how to farm. The Indians showed them how to make warm coats. The Indians showed them how to make pumpkins and carve them. The Indians showed them how to go out and kill turkey — and, if it weren’t for the Indians, the Pilgrims would have starved, and there never would have been an America, and then the Indians would have never been overrun, and then there wouldn’t be any Indian casinos.

Well, there might have still have been an Indian casino, but there would not have been an America. Therefore, we owe Indians everything. That’s essentially the story of Thanksgiving that people were taught. I’m exaggerating a bit. But that’s how it was taught. Even I, as I say, was taught a mild version of that, and it is nowhere near the truth. For the truth, I found the journals of William Bradford, who was the original governor of the original Plymouth plantation, and one of the primary movers and shakers of putting together the journey on the Mayflower that brought these Pilgrims to the New World.



So I wrote about it in my second book called See, I Told You So in Chapter 6: “Dead White Guys or What the History Books Never Told You, The True Story of Thanksgiving.” If I have time, I’m also gonna share with you excerpts of George Washington’s first Thanksgiving Proclamation. If you’re unfamiliar with that, it will startle you. “The story of the Pilgrims begins in the early part of the seventeenth century,” the late 1600s.

“The Church of England under King James I was persecuting anyone and everyone who did not recognize its absolute civil and spiritual authority. Those who challenged ecclesiastical authority [of the Church of England] and those who believed strongly in freedom of worship were … imprisoned, and sometimes executed for their [heresy]. A group of separatists” people who wanted no part of that in England “first fled to Holland and established a community.

“After eleven years,” in Holland, “about forty of them agreed to make a perilous journey to” what was then called “the New World, where they would certainly face hardships,” and experiences that none of them could foresee. But to them it was worth the try because for them the objective was to “live and worship God according to the dictates of their own consciences,” their beliefs and their desires. “On August 1, 1620, the Mayflower set sail.

“It carried a total of 102 passengers,” not all of them Pilgrims, “including forty Pilgrims led by William Bradford. On the journey, Bradford set up an agreement, a contract,” for all the Pilgrims to agree to and sign, “that established just and equal laws for all [forty Pilgrims] of the new community…” It didn’t matter what their religious beliefs were. None of that mattered. They just set up a contractual agreement that dictated behavior and a number of other things. Now, where did the ideas…? This is the Mayflower Compact, by the way, is what it was called.



“Where did the revolutionary ideas expressed in the Mayflower Compact come from? From the Bible. The Pilgrims were a people completely steeped in the lessons of the” Bible, both “Old and New Testaments.” It was the reason they lived: To read it, to study it, to practice it. “They looked to the ancient Israelites for their example. And, because of the biblical precedents set forth in Scripture,” this is all according to Bradford’s journal, “they never doubted that their experiment would work.” They were supremely confident that their objective would occur.

But everybody knows “this was no pleasure cruise.” It was long. It was arduous. There were the usual bad relationships and problems on board this tiny ship with 102 people. But they made it. They made it in ways that people would not travel today. They had no other choice. Think of the primitive forms of navigation, lack of knowledge of any upcoming weather or condition of the seas. Yet they did it, “[a]nd when the Pilgrims landed in New England in November, they found, according to Bradford’s detailed journal,” nothing “a cold, barren, desolate,” unsettled, “wilderness.

“There were no friends to greet them, he wrote.” There was nobody to greet them. “There were no houses…” There was no shelter whatsoever, other than the trees. There was nothing that could be considered creature comforts whatsoever. There were no friends. There were no hotels. There were no bathrooms. There was no place “they could refresh themselves. And the sacrifice they had made for freedom was just beginning.” They arrived at the onset of winter. Half of them, half of the first 40, “including Bradford’s own wife — died of either starvation, sickness or exposure.”

No houses, no hotels, no Safeway, no American Express. Nothing. They endured the winter as best they could. “When spring finally came, Indians,” the Native American, did welcome them, and “taught the settlers how to plant corn, fish for cod and skin beavers for coats. Life improved for the Pilgrims, but they” were nowhere near prosperity. “This is important to understand because this is where modern American history lessons often end.”



This is what the traditional Thanksgiving story is. The Pilgrims arrived, barely made it through the winter. Indians befriended them and saved them — and today, to this day, we give thanks to the Indians for having saved the Pilgrims. This could not be further from the truth. This is not to diminish the assistance, but this is not what Thanksgiving is about. “Thanksgiving is actually explained in some textbooks as a holiday for which the Pilgrims gave thanks to the Indians for saving their lives,” but that’s not what it was.

“Thanksgiving, in truth, my friends, is “a devout expression of gratitude” to God for their survival, which depending on a whole lot of things after they arrived — a whole lot of things besides assistance by the Indians. “Here is the part that has been omitted: The original contract the Pilgrims had entered into,” the Mayflower Compact, “with their merchant-sponsors in London…” They had no money. They had to have people help them here.

“The original contract … called for everything they produced to go into a common store,” a common account, “and each member of the community was entitled to one common share.” In other words, everybody got the same as everyone else. That’s the way it was set up. It was fairness, and it was equality. “All of the land they cleared and the houses they built belong to the community,” not to the people personally. “They were going to distribute it equally. All of the land they cleared… Nobody owned anything.

“They just had a share in it. It was a commune,” pure and simple. “It was the forerunner to the communes we saw in the ’60s and ’70s out in California — and it was complete with organic vegetables, by the way. Bradford, who had become the new governor of the colony, recognized that this” wasn’t working. This was collectivism. Nobody had any more than anybody else, nobody had any less, but that did not lead to prosperity. It never does.

So after a while, realizing that there was nothing but stagnation going on, “Bradford assigned a plot of land to each family to work and manage,” and whatever they produced was theirs — and, in an early fashion, this unleashed “the power of the marketplace. Long before Karl Marx was even born, the Pilgrims had discovered and experimented with what could only be described as socialism. And what happened? It didn’t work!” You know why it didn’t work?

When everybody was entitled to the same, you have slackers. Slackers didn’t do their share, they didn’t contribute their share, but they got the same amount as everybody else. It led to recriminations and jealousies and anger. "HOUSTON (AP) — A federal judge barred the Trump administration on Monday from refusing asylum to immigrants who cross the southern border illegally.

U.S. District Judge Jon S. Tigar issued a temporary restraining order after hearing arguments in San Francisco. The request was made by the American Civil Liberties Union and the Center for Constitutional Rights, which quickly sued after President Donald Trump issued the ban this month in response to the caravans of migrants that have started to arrive at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Trump issued a proclamation on Nov. 9 that said anyone who crossed the southern border would be ineligible for asylum. The regulations, which will remain in place for three months absent a court order, could potentially make it harder for thousands of people who enter the U.S. to avoid deportation.

“Individuals are entitled to asylum if they cross between ports of entry,” said Baher Azmy, a lawyer for the Center for Constitutional Rights. “It couldn’t be clearer.”"

"Rodney James Quine was convicted of first-degree murder, kidnapping, and robbery. He is serving a life sentence for the murder in the California prison system. He sued the federal government to pay for transgender surgery, and the state of California has agreed to use tax dollars to do so.

After Quine’s surgery, he will be moved to a women’s prison.

This gives California another first: the first state to pay for a prison inmate’s gender “reassignment” operation, which costs up to $25,000.

Quine’s case was personally helped by a San Francisco federal judge, Jon Tigar, an Obama appointee. Tigar assigned himself to Quine’s lawsuit and appointed a team of San Francisco lawyers and the Transgender Law Center to represent him. Tigar mused how denying a prisoner’s sex change operation may constitute “deliberate indifference” to a serious medical need and, if so, would be unconstitutionally “cruel and unusual punishment.” Mr. Quine has repeatedly attempted suicide."

A DAY OUT IN THE ARDENNES (UPDATE).

Excellent weather today and the weather charts predicted the East of Belgium completely cloudfree so it was off to the Ardennes one last time this year. Took our daughter with me, she loves the Hautes Fagnes (High Fens), Belgium's "roof", so it was quickly decided where to.

All photos taken on the southern leg of the walk Noir Flohay - Geitzbusch - Hill, a 15.7 kilometer circular walk with an appendix to Baraque Michel, where you can park your car. Baraque Michel is along the N68, about halfway between Eupen and Malmédy.

Since we walked counterclockwise and time did not permit doing the full walk (we started out hopelessly too late), we missed the northern leg which passes Noir Flohay, which reportedly offers the best panoramas. Don't matter. We'll do it next year, hopefully with the whole family. To get an idea of the walk, check out the following video. Reader timactual asked about the length of the wooden boardwalks and whether there were any restrictions as to where one could walk in these lands.

The High Fens are a National Park. The Department Nature and Woods imposes restrictions with regards to walking depending on the season, so as not to disturb several avian species, in particular grouse. This year e.g.:


A.) From 17 March to 15 June of this year walking on:


1) walkways 33 en 35 (B-zone) between Baraque Michel en Bouquet Bastin wasn't allowed
2) neither was walking in the C Zone of the Fagne Wallonne and the Fagne des Deux Séries
3) neither in the C zone and alongside the border of the Fagne de Cléfaye


B.) Additonally, from 15 June to 27 July:

Walking not allowed on walkways 4 and 5 (C zone) in the Fagne Wallonne (Drello) and on ways 19 en 21 (C zone) in the Fagne des Deux Séries (Brochepierre)


The boardwalks in the photos were the longest I ever encountered, some 6 kilometers before we turned back, with a couple of short interruptions where the land was dry. Because after all, the boardwalks are there for a reason. It's practically not doable to go cross country, since the bog is very wet. Yesterday, we made it as far as the northeastern tip of Grand Bongard. But it was almost 4.30 pm and I wanted to check out whether it was possible to make a shortcut across Grand Bongard instead of following the solid green line all around. The shortcut would have brought us to the point marked by the white on black flag to the right of no. 53. In this way, I thought, we could make it back in time AND still pas along Geitzbusch and Noir Flohay. However, after only thirty or forty meters I gave up. Required too much energy (you have to lift your feet to about knee level most of the time) and you're constantly treading in what the Germans would call 'Sumpf'. It's only normal that several streams have their source on this plateau (Helle, Statte, Hoëgne etc).

Anyway, we got back tail between legs along the same route (GR573). By the time we were back at Baraque Michel it was pitch dark.

IN MEMORIAM MY UNCLE.

No music today, because I don't feel it's appropriate. In the week that was, my uncle R., my late father's sole brother, passed away at the age of 82.

I knew his wife was quite religious, but that he himself was too, came as a bit of a surprise to me. I had never heard him utter, or seen him display, anything that hinted to Christian zeal. Yet he insisted on receiving the Last Rites, which for me is as much a consolation as it seems to have been for him. He also asked his wife and sons that a small and intimate service be held at the church depicted in the background of this painting...

... and I was glad to be able to attend, together with my family.


I know he suffered a lot, had been suffering for years actually, and especially his last months and weeks were excruciating, so his wife, my aunt, told me. He took it as a Man, complained little, and even apologized profusely to his wife for the burden that he had become - my aunt insisted on taking care of her husband herself, instead of hospitalizing him.

With my uncle's passing, an important bloodlink to my late father also disappears. Born only two years apart, it was evident that they would spend their childhood together and by all accounts, they were inseparable in that timeframe. Only later, when R. made a career in the industry, and work and marriage took him to other areas physically, did they grow apart somewhat. Yet both lived and laboured honorably, had sound marriages, and raised their offspring admirably. My cousins are the closest to the brothers I never had, and I am grateful for them.

Now R. is no more, and I wish I could say from the bottom of my heart that he is now reunited with his brother, my father. Yet at least four decades of living in a sick society where daily assaults on Christianity are the rule, have taken their toll... and I admit that right now it's hard to be assured of their being together again. Still, let us recall Pope Benedict XVI saying bravely that "doubt is the handmaiden of faith", and, regardless, I keep going back to feeling and being a Christian as if it's the most natural state in the world. I guess I should feel lucky for that.

I guess I am.

STOP THE UN MIGRATION PACT, SIGN THE PETITION!

We have touched on this all-important subject before a couple of times the previous weeks, but as DEC 10-11 draws nearer, "good men and women" must step forward more than ever. I am of course talking about the UN Migration Pact aka "Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration", to be signed by as yet virtually 95 per cent of all the world's countries in just a matter of weeks.

The most ominous word in "Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration" is "regular". In reality, this will boil down to the de facto legalization of illegal migration as soon, post the signing of the pact, massive migration flows can be expected. Naturally, they will move towards developed nations - by which I mean primarily, possibly exclusively - the ones in North America and Europe, where cohorts of self-hating politicans cannot wait to replace the original populations.

One should not buy into the ridiculous "non-binding" character attributed to this scam of a Pact. This "assurance" is merely a ploy to disguise what is in effect the first bricklaying of intergovernmental legislation which will basically give its blessing to unprecedented flows of welfare seekers which in time will utterly destroy the West.

The much maligned VLAAMS BELANG, as the only true rightwing party in Belgium, offers you the possibility to sign a petition against this monstrosity of a Pact, which should actually better be called a Diktat.

MEET ADVOCATES ABROAD, THE NGO COUNSELING "REFUGEES" TO LIE TO GET THEIR ASYLUM APPLICATIONS APPROVED SOONER.

Soon now, Lauren Southern will release her new documentary "Borderless", which explores the multibillion dollar industry that mass migration has become. Hundreds of NGO's suck up unfathomable amounts of taxpayer money to employ tens of thousands of twisted individuals, otherwise unemployable, who want to heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp the wretched of the world by making them consumers of our social security systems.

Today I noticed Ms Southern released a video dealing with just such an NGO, Advocates Abroad.

I have mentioned here a couple of times the imminent signature by, alas, far too many nations, of the scam that is the UN Migration Pact. This pact will in effect be the great equalizer between legal and illegal immigration. Prosperous nations, first and foremost in the West, will be subject to a deluge of welfare seekers fleeing hellholes that are hellholes, well, in the first place because of the welfare seekers, because of their 'culture', often their 'religion', customs, lack of labor ethic etc etc

I guess that for Advocates Abroad the signing of the UN Pact, and the subsequent flooding of the West with the Third World, cannot come soon enough. And by their actions ye shall know them: in Southern's video we learn e.g. how Advocates Abroad litterally learns asylum seekers to lie in order to have their applications approved sooner.

The kind of lies? Pretend to suffer from a serious war trauma. Pass yourself off as a Christian even though you are a follower of the prophet. Ariel Ricker is currently Director of Advocates Abroad, and in this video Southern captures Ricker in basically admitting they are committing a gigantic fraud - with silly Europeans' taxpayer money, no less:

[Voorbeeld] In December 2017 in Izmir, Turkey, I was threatened for being a Christian, because my boss jumped me when I was leaving church, this is the Bible they tried to tear up, this is the crucifix I was wearing they tried to tear and it made me feel unsafe as a Christian in Turkey, Ba-Boom. And that way you have the event, date and location, so yo've given them a very specific answer (...), it's much harder to refute, because you have all the elements in there. (...) Consistency is the most important thing, even if you find yourself in a position where you have to lie, it's best to just stick with what you've just said.

They put in the decision whether or not you were acting with emotion, so you have to be like [sighing and crying] or crying or stopping or throwing up or asking for a break, so it's becoming an actor. You have to tell people to ask to take a break? Oh we do, we actually do role play. We prepare for them a folder, so like the first role playing activity we do is like us being them, and they're the officer. And then we flip around after they've had some practice to see how I should walk into the officie, how should I introduce myself? How should I give them the folder, and then how do I sit down, and then when do I stand up? When do I show them how to pray?

Why would you need to show them how to pray? Because it's a good way to show honesty. This is done in other places too, like not good places, to see if you're truly what you say you are. If you can't show how to pray... If you're actually a Christian? Mhmm. Oh, so if you're saying you're fleeing persecution? Then you should probably know how to be, you know, praying that way. They also ask like what's your favourite holiday, but we explain you can't just say this because it's not a sufficient answer. You have to say this in a certain way which is like December 25th, which is Christmas which is the birthday of our Lord and Saviour."

POLISH INDEPENDENCE DAY!

Today, I have chosen not to dwell on the run of the mill commemmorations of Armistice Day, since most ceremonies have been hijacked by globalist traitors. Instead, I give you the wonderful celebration of Poland's Independence Day, which coincides with Armistice Day. Indeed, 11 November 1918 was the day Poland rose from its ashes as the Second Polish Republic after a 123 year-hiatus from the European geopolitical scene. 123 years, because in 1795 the country was partitioned between Russia, Prussia and Austria.

A jubilant crowd of 200,000 plus Poles, including President Andrzej Duda, PM Mateusz Morawiecki and Chairman of the PiS party Jaroslaw Kaczynski, marched through the streets of Warsaw singing the national anthem:





There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with love of one's own country as long as you do not deny the same right to citizens of other nations. Perhaps no other people illustrate this better than the modest Poles, most of whom identify emphatically with their beautiful land between Odra and Mazury, and/or between Morze Baltyckie and Góry Tatry; yet can under no circumstances be accused of the evils our globalist moral betters bestow on nationalism.

In France, the vicious, barren and synthetic gnome who passes for Président de la République, dishonored the memories and sacrifices of millions of poilus who a century ago fought and died for la France, most often in the most miserable circumstances. 11 NOVEMBER 2018: SMALL BRITAIN CAPITULATES WITHOUT A SHOT FOR SUBHUMAN PAKI MUSLIM MOBS.

Just like in Germany the majority of muslims are Turks and in France Algerians, Moroccans and Tunisians, so the followers of the prophet in the UK are majority Pakistanis. Apparently the British government is scared that a certain decision might upset their multiculti goldcoins. Via Breitbart:

Huge mobs of Islamic hardliners have taken to the streets since the ruling, however, demanding her execution and threatening to kill her themselves — prompting the woman, her family, and her lawyer to seek refuge abroad.

“I am requesting the Prime Minister of the UK help us and as far as possible grant us freedom,” pleaded husband Ashiq Masih in an appeal to the country’s former colonial power.

The British government has reportedly rejected this plea, despite having previously signed up to take large numbers of migrants claiming to be children from France, as well as from refugee camps near Syria — although these were 100 percent Muslim in the early part of 2018, with all Christians rejected."

Almost thirty years ago, in December 1988, following the publication of Salman Rushdie's The Satanic Verses, there were demos and bookburnings by angry muslim mobs - mainly pakistanis of course - in Bolton and Bradford. On 9 April of the following Spring, Collets and Dillons, two large bookstores in Charing Cross Road, London, were bombed. In May, similar bombings took place in High Wycombe and again in London, this time on Kings Road. Another Penguin shop in York suffered the same fate shortly after.

Now, that was three DECADES ago. Now that the paki segment of the population has grown dramatically in number, is even far more fanatical than back then, and has shown utter contempt for the UK's laws, let alone security services, who knows what might happen should the goverment grant asylum to Asia Bibi, is it not? Better not stir things up, eh?
