1978. Dean Friedman with Lydia, tremendously beautiful ballad that flopped for some reason. Popular perception has it that Ariel is Friedman's No. 1 hit. Can't figure out why.
1990. 'Falling', sung by Julee Cruise. The theme was the intro on the soundtrack of the quasi mythical series Twin Peaks. My wife and I requested this number - okay, actually it was just me - for our opening dance on our wedding ceremony in summer 1999.
1995. Adam Ant began his career as the lead man of the English postpunk/New Wave band Adam & The Ants, but this number was made a long time after the group's demise. It's called Wonderful, and it is from his last album to date. Probably the very last, since the fella has since, on more than one occasion, seen the interior of psychiatric wards. Not as a personnel member, mind you. Anyway, Wonderful is, well, wonderful.
Make it a nice Valentine's Day for your sweetheart.
