It's easy for stuff like this to slip under the radar. Every day there's news left and right testifying to the insanity of a Europe letting itself be invaded while insisting all will be well because, multiculturalism and stuff. Why, just today in Kortrijk, Belgistan, two people, a young man and a woman, were found stabbed to death. Turned out the murderer was an Afghan. One of the victims, the male, was another Afghan. The theory is now that it's probably a matter of rivalry. Presumably a homegrown tw*t fell in love with Afghan #1 and Afghan #2 was not pleased:
Progress! But enough about that, back in time one month, the news that slipped under the radar you know. At the end of August a group of ten young Syrians attacked nightclub Frosch [Frog, MFBB] in Frankfurt an der Oder. There was a nineties party going on. Two arabs had gotten into a war of words with guests. They started to provoke other partygoers. Then things got out of hand: "We are arabs, we will kill you all".
They left "Frosch", only to come back with around 8 other Syrian "youths" and armed with iron bars. They started to pelt stones and..., oh, read it yourself, via Morgenpost:
"Frankfurt/Oder.
"These were scenes from a war zone", said Dirk Schoebe to Berliner Morgenpost. "We were doing a nineties party - and suddenly we found ourselves in a war zone, not in our Heimat city anymore. It was ghostly, the "Allahu Akbar" shouting, the agression, the muffled beats, people crying."
Because we can't keep complaining about muslims or socialists forever, it's good to catch some fresh air now and then. Once upon a time, a semi-regular contribution on my exploits in the Ardennes was a fixed staple on this here blog, but the last one dates from a couple of years ago already. Anyway, with sunny weather and zilch chance on rain, plus the daughter also willing to go, I thought it might be a good idea to head south again after a long pause. And so we did.
But first a short stop in Liége, la 'Cité Ardente'.
The Tour Paradis, or Tour des Finances de Liège, a brand new building housing some 1,100 fonctionnaires of the Ministry of Finance. Not that high, only 118 meters, but of a peculiar design.
Nearby is the main station of Liège, Liège Guillemins, designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava:
And then it was off to Solwaster, a tiny village perhaps halfway between Liège and the German border, at the edge of the Parc National des Hautes Fagnes. There's a modest walk there, No. 57 (dark blue rectangles), only 9 kilometers long, but commendable as a warmup exercise for tougher stuff. Also, quite nice because following the picturesque Statte brook (a tributary of the Hoëgne river, which seems to actually be a nicer place according to this bloke) for much of the way AND excellent signals, no risk whatsoever of getting lost. Sorry for the mediocre photography, I'm still using a geriatric iPhone4.
At some point we came across a peculiar rock formation rising some 20 meters above the Statte valley. This is the Rocher de Bilisse, about 500 million years old, so smack in the middle (give or take 10 million years) of the Cambrian. Very interesting since in fact having been pushed up through leverage from later sedimentary layers nearby, deposited between 280 (Permian) and 400
(Devonian) Ma ago.
A view on Solwaster from a ridge actually higher up the Rocher de Bilisse:
And finally back to the village. Landscape not so stunning as along the Semois further south, but it was worth the oxygen cure.
Level 42 with Guaranteed. Album Guaranteed (1991).
Instantly recognizable as a Level 42 song because of King's slap style on the bass and Mike Lindup's falsetto voice, but now both Gould Bros. are gone (Phil would return for a short while towards the end of the decade). The album was recorded on the Isle of Wight, where Level 42 formed in 1979.
Now for some psychedelic rock. A number by Jefferson Airplane, White Rabbit. See it as a homage to Marty Balin, the primary founder of JA. From the album Surrealistic Pillow (1967).
Balin launched Jefferson Airplane from The Matrix, a pizzeria-turned-nightclub in San Francisco. His band became the vanguard of the San Francisco Sound. This song was written by Grace Slick, ex The Great Society. She's quite hot huh?
Anyway, Mr Balin shuffled off this mortal coil on 27 SEP. God bless, and RIP.
"* The mosque opened today in Cologne during controversial President Erdogan's three-day visit to the city
* His visit was wrapped in controversy as thousands of police officers were deployed in force amid protests
* Supporters also came out to celebrate the inauguration of the new mosque after years of development

One of Europe's largest mosques is to open in Cologne, Germany today.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reported the news during his controversial visit to the country with police deploying in force amid planned protests.
The inauguration will be the closing event of Erdogan's three-day state visit, aimed at repairing frayed ties with Berlin after two years of tensions.
In talks with Chancellor Angela Merkel on Friday, both leaders signalled their interest in a cautious rapprochement, but Merkel stressed that 'deep differences' remained on civil rights and other issues."
DITIB, which is the shady Turkish Ministry of Religious Matters' branch in Germany, has found plenty of fools in Germany wanting to believe that the design of this atrocity is inspired by the buds of a flower about to blossom.
I see something else, and what I have in mind is Erdogan stating "The mosques are our barracks, the domes our helmets, the minarets our bayonets, and the faithful our soldiers”.
The minarets do look like things to stab, and the main building does look like a helmet from ancient times.
So the scoundrel is back in Germany visiting his eager supporters. Probably he will exhort them again to make soldiers for allah, like he did last year.
I'm a frequent visitor to the excellent naval blog CDR Salamander, and I find myself in agreement with the CDR in 98 per cent of the cases. But in one of his recent posts on French operations in Mali he got it so horribly wrong that it left me gobsmacked, even downright depressed:
"I know, I know. I am the one who pushes back against getting involved in foreign adventures, but this is not quite like a full-on invasion of a nation with sketchy impact on USA or allied national security.
This is helping our oldest ally who is helping another nation fight our common enemy - radical Islam. Mali itself is a Muslim country, 90% Muslim - but Islam is not the enemy. Radical Islam is."
Sorry CDR, but imho it has to be hammered in each and every head THAT ISLAM IS DEFINITELY THE ENEMY. And I have some telling evidence for that statement, coming from no other than Erdogan himself:
As I replied in the comments section:
"Permit me to squarely disagree CDR. ISLAM IS THE ENEMY.
The metrics are there. The data are there. History's lessons are there. If not enough of us understand and fully acknowledge the intrinsic danger of islam, we are lost. Period."
And:
"...We should stop thinking they look at the world thru a comparable prism. Their thinking is far more collectivist than ours. They may butcher each other, but under all the internecine hatred there's that feeling of belonging to the worldwide ummah, with one common goal, world domination.
I would actually turn the CDR's take on its head. Extremist islam is not so much a problem, islam is.
Extremist islam is highly visible which makes it easy to pinpoint and neutralize them. In that respect ISIS et al must be viewed as the ultimate idiots since they chose to engage in the kind of warfare we are still good at. By establishing their caliphate for all to see they offered our militaries a target rich environment. Didn't do them much good huh?
But the REAL danger is 'moderate' islam."
Look at this photo: "moderate" muslims aka "New Germans" welcoming their hero Erdogan. Cologne, today, 29 SEP 2018:
As we speak, these zealots are waging a demographic jihad against us, an evolution made only worse by a gay-smitten Europe hellbent on turning its males into pussies and its females in ecoconscious feminazis rejecting motherhood. And in a move akin to throwing petrol on a raging fire, the EU leadership, childless Merkel up front, sluiced two million followers of the prophet, soon to be followed by their wives and offspring, into our lands.
We should not worry too much about the "Radical" muslims. They are the low hanging fruit. It is relatively easy to finish them off. In recent times, the West killed them by the tens of thousands in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria.
But the REAL threat is islam in our heartlands. Sorry if I'm hurting anyone's feelings, but if you do not understand that simple, basic truth...
... you should step out of the way. There is no use for you.
Over at The Rebel Media, retired Col. Kurt Schlichter on the charade that was on display at Capitol Hill:
Indeed, whatever happened to the presumption of innocence, the right to face your accuser (how I would have loved to see a face-off between Ford and Judge Kavanaugh), as well as the right to cross-examine them; and the burden of proof.
And don't miss Mark Steyn's take on a little overlooked aspect, which is the umpteenth example of the left's desire to manipulate:
"I mentioned with Tucker the other night the condescension of Gentleman Jim Acosta, who airily presumes that, if you're a woman, any woman, you believe the accuser and assume this Kavanaugh guy is a serial gang-rapist. That's how it goes: Identity politics makes moron cultures of formerly sophisticated societies. So it was inevitable that when a picture from yesterday's hearing popped up, of the judge with three females sitting behind him, the wankerati of Twitter immediately assumed that they were just three regular all-American women staring in disgust at the rape beast of Bethesda.
In fact, they were Kavanaugh's wife, mother, and one of their dearest friends. And the reason they look like that is because they're crushed and broken by what Dianne Feinstein, Blumenthal, Whitehouse and the other whatever-it-takes Democrats chose to do to them. It is a testament to the thoroughness with which these malign carbuncles on the body politic set about their task that, in a certain sense, one could forgive the Twitter mob its carelessness: Mrs Kavanaugh was all but unrecognizable from the woman who'd sat behind her husband just a fortnight ago. She was, indeed, a different person, and she will be for the rest of her life.
Dianne Feinstein did that to her, consciously. The Ranking Member is in a tricky position back home. She's on the California ballot this November, but, having been outflanked on her left, she is not the official Democrat nominee. So she cannot afford to be insufficiently "progressive", and thus concluded it was necessary to, in Kavanaugh's words, "destroy" his family..."
Acosta and his twitter boys and girls certainly have eager acolytes/followers on this side of the Pond. This is a headline in Het Laatste Nieuws, yesterday:
"ALL THE WOMEN IN THIS PHOTO MAKE IT CLEAR HOW THEY THINK ABOUT JUDGE KAVANAUGH."
Yeah yeah yeah, a little bit further in the article they do recognize that these women are in fact his supporters. In a small font. But the idea has been planted, right? In a world of soundbites and uncritical newstakers, this barely disguised suggestion is yet another shot across the bow of a decent man who shouldn't be on trial, because that's what it was.

"An enormous future particle detector is now within closer reach. The first data from a prototype experiment hint that scientists may have what it takes to build the planned neutrino detector.
Known as the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment, or DUNE, the experiment will use 70,000 metric tons of liquefied argon to study the secrets of these neutrinos — bizarre, nearly massless particles that may help reveal why matter is common in the universe but antimatter is rare. DUNE will eventually detect the tracks of charged particles, including electrons and their heavier cousins, muons, that are produced when neutrinos interact.
A smaller prototype built at CERN in Geneva has spotted its first particles, researchers announced September 18. The scaled-down detector traced the paths of muons produced when protons traveling through space slam into Earth’s atmosphere. The prototype is one of two detectors known as ProtoDUNE, which were built to test DUNE’s technology.
Beginning in 2026, DUNE will detect neutrinos beamed from Fermilab in Batavia, Ill. to the detector’s location more than a kilometer underground at the Sanford Underground Research Facility in South Dakota."
In the Standard Model of Particle Physics the most obvious categories are the by now quite well known quarks (up, down, charm, strange, top, and bottom), and another still rather exotic sounding group, the six leptons (electron, electron neutrino, muon, muon neutrino, tau, and tau neutrino). Quarks and leptons are called fermions, and each one of them has a corresponding antiparticle.
Of the three generations of quarks, the first generation is the most stable, and contains also the lightest particles: the up and down quarks. Quarks are never on their own but 'operate' always in 'combinations' which are called hadrons. The best well known hadrons are household names: protons and neutrons. In a proton, two up quarks combine with one down quark. A neutron by contrast consists of one up quark and two down quarks.
Now, quarks have various intrinsic properties, namely electric charge, mass, "color" charge, and "spin". Quarks are the sole elementary particles susceptible to the four fundamental interactions: electromagnetism, gravity, and the strong and weak interactions.
Electromagnetism is the fundamental force best understood and describes the interactions between electrically charged particles like, say, protons and electrons in an atom. If they are equal in number in the atom, their positive and negative charges cancel each other out, thus making the atom electrically neutral. By contrast, if an atom misses one or more electrons, it becomes "positive" and is called an ion.
The strong interaction aka nuclear strong force aka color force is, on a much more fundamental level though, far stronger than the electromagnetic force - at a range of 10 to the minus 15 m (1 femtometer), a whopping 137 times. The strong interaction is observable on two levels or scales: on the "largest" scale, 1 to 3 femtometer, it keeps protons together in spite of their positive charges (no contest, really). On the smallest scale, below 0.8 femtometer, it keeps the up quarks, which are themselves electrically charged, together (in their hadrons, remember).
The weak interaction is the interaction between subatomic particles that causes radioactive decay. For instance, weak interaction causes a neutron to transform - decay - into a proton, an electron, and an electron antineutrino.
Then there is gravity, the most observable fundamental force since it keeps your feet on the ground and the Earth orbit around the sun, but in fact it is the weakest of the four fundamentals: approximately 10 to the 38 times weaker than the strong force, 10 to the 36 times weaker than the electromagnetic force, and 10 to the 29 times weaker than the weak force. It plays therefore no role on the scale of subatomic particles except perhaps for quarks, but even there it's unimportant.
In the lepton group, the electron, the muon and the tau particle do not carry "color" charge hence are not influenced by the strong interaction aka "color force". But they do have an electric charge which means that they are susceptible to electromagnetic forces. And also to the weak interaction.
The three other neutrinos, the subject of this post, are not electrically charged. Since, as we have seen, gravity does not play a role on this level, the neutrinos are subject only to the weak interaction.
These elusive particles were first detected on 13 NOV 1970 at the University of Chicago's Argonne National Laboratory:
In a hydrogen bubble bath", it was observed how a neutrino hit a proton in a hydrogen atom. The collision took place at the point where the three tracks emanate.
That was almost fifty years ago. DUNE, for Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment, is expected to become operational from 2026 on:
The Belgian DOJ has started an investigation into the allegedly 'racist' character of Schild en Vrienden, the Flemish rightwing youth organization (no formal links with Vlaams Belang) of which members would have posted 'racist', 'sexist', 'homophobic' messages on private and core group (Discord) FB pages.
It's all hyped up beyond belief, and it is also becoming increasingly clear that the Pano 'documentary' by the extreme leftwing state broadcaster VRT, was meant as an Operation Damage N-VA, since Schild en Vrienden members can be found on several N-VA lists for the upcoming municipal elections. For the record, N-VA profiles itself as some sort of Vlaams Belang Lite, but they never fooled me. They are no Conservatives (its Chairman is the kind of guy who is very hunky dory with attending Mister Gay Flanders contests e.g.), and they certainly aren't pro strong borders, be it EU or Belgian ones. But of course, even a party which from a distance of three miles looks somewhat to the right of Joseph Stalin is too much for VRT (Vlaamse Radio en Televisie) and its sponsors the socialists and greens.
Anyway, the VRT strategy is working since all across Flanders, N-VA candidates who were S & V members have stepped back and the party is in full damage control...
... for nothing.
As for Schild en Vrienden itself, its chairman, Dries Van Langenhove, has released a movie in which he debunks the allegations of the VRT docu maker, Tim Vanderheyden, whom he, alas, allowed to make the docu in the first place. That fact alone should be reason to treat the VRT allegations with the greatest care because indeed, S&V allowed Vanderheyden an inside look into the organization. If there really would have been a risk for disclosure of explicit material, Van Langenhove wouldn't have given Vanderheyden a free hand. To be sure, some questionable memes were found here and there, and there is no doubt that some of them emanate from S&V circles. But the origin of a great slew of other memes is certainly doubtful. Given the extreme leftwing character of the state broadcaster, which forever has had a deserved reputation as a blood red bastion, it would come as no surprise to me that memes like this one:
... were in fact planted by leftist operatives.
It is entirely possible. In the following video Schild en Vrienden Chairman Van Langenhove debunks the allegations and makes a strong case that the entire Pano docu was nothing more than a political maneuver meant to damage the right just prior to the elections:
If only I had some more time to provide a translation...
If you are still sceptical, know this, and I realize it sounds insane, but yet it is the truth. The Director Social Media of the State Broadcaster VRT, a public organization funded by taxpayers from all stripes and therefore supposed to be neutral... that Director of Social Media...
.... is a young woman with a muslim father and a history of radical leftist activism. Her name?
Jihad Van Puymbroeck.
No, I kid you not. Here's a photo from around the time, early this year, that VRT hired her:
"Yes, my name is Jihad, it's my honor and my pride."
VRT hired her despite a huge number of questionable tweets. The most innocent of which are perhaps the ones in the upper left corner: "BDW [Bart De Wever, N-VA mayor of Antwerp - MFBB] reminds me of Hitler. It's his way of talking". "And let us now make it clear that N-VA are assholes".
Apparently these opinions are no problem for a state broadcaster looking for an objective Director Social Media!
And what about this? One of the main points in the Pano docu Verheyden was huffing and puffing about was that Schild and Vrienden members were known to use weapons in shooting clubs. Ooooooh the horror! Look at that:
Van Langenhove on some shooting stand, toting what looks like a Heckler & Koch rifle.
However, some bloke sporting weapons was NEVER a problem for the VRT when the person in question hailed from a red, green or muslim corner. Case in point Dyab Abou Jahjah, a Palestinian firebrand who in a grey past unfortunately obtained Belgian nationality through a phoney marriage with a certain Peggy Paternoster. Mr Jahjah has a very long history of provoking unrest. In times past, when he weighed 30 pounds less and was Chairman of the AEL (Arab European League), he was 'famous' for organizing pro-Palestinian riots, harassing the Antwerp PD, and loudly claiming that arabic should become Belgium's fourth official language. Earlier this year he announced that he would participate in the elections with a new leftist party, Be.one. The glorious news of which was reason enough for VRT to roll out the red carpet for our (former?) Hizballah terrorist:
Dyab Abou Jahjah during an interview by Bart Schols of the VRT talkshow 'De afspraak', early in 2018.
And this is a photo Dyab posted a couple of years back on social media. Ooooh what a hero! Too bad that by all accounts, former (?) Hizballah member Dyab Abou Jahjah (by his own admission) seems to have rather belonged to the Coca Cola Commando branch, ooooooooops Mint Tea Platoon of the forces combating the Israeli occupiers.
This photo has been doing the rounds on internet for at least 5 or 6 years, and yet in February it was NO PROBLEM whatsoever for Bart Schols to invite radical A-hole Jahjah to his show. Mr Jahjah was lucky that his tweet with the heroic AK47-toting pose escaped the attention of the then brand new VRT Director Social Media, Jihad Van Puymbroeck, or else!
Anyway, it only proves that in Belgium you can get away with just about anything...
... if you hail from the red, green or muslim camp. It's an entirely different matter if you identify as a Flemish patriot.

While we are at it, watch the Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini defending the idea that young Europeans should procreate to counter the ageing of Europe's population. Time and again, he's interrupted by the nitwit Luxembourgois Foreign Minister who is hellbent on using mass immigration from Africa instead:
Asselborn's boss is Xavier Bettel, Luxembourg's Prime Minister and openly gay, but why would I even mention that? In gay-smitten Europe gay sex, gay marriage and gay adoption have been the New Normal for some time, and dinosaurs like me, well, I think I will just have to sneak out and try to make it to Poland or Hungary before the European Parliament votes a law to make homosexuality mandatory, at least if you're a cream white euro. Here's PM Bettel with his sweetheart, Belgian architect Gauthier Destenay, whom he married in 2015. Progress!
UN-FOR-TU-NA-TE-LY, studies have shown that if you plug a dick in an anus and you pump a load of sperm down, erm, up the tube, it does not produce babies!!! Who would have thunk it?????!!!??
We can now understand Mr Asselborn's indignation far better. And that Salvini, well, he must be a Nazi for proposing that euros make their own babies. There's no other explanation.
Over and out from Europe, the world's Biggest Open Air Lunatic Asylum.
"A video recorded by Google shortly after the 2016 presidential election reveals an atmosphere of panic and dismay amongst the tech giant’s leadership, coupled with a determination to thwart both the Trump agenda and the broader populist movement emerging around the globe."
If you want to understand how these people think about us normals, here are some telling phrases:
"(00:00:00 – 00:01:12) Google co-founder Sergey Brin states that the weekly meeting is “probably not the most joyous we’ve had” and that “most people here are pretty upset and pretty sad.”
(00:00:24) Brin contrasts the disappointment of Trump’s election with his excitement at the legalization of cannabis in California, triggering laughs and applause from the audience of Google employees.
(00:01:12) Returning to seriousness, Brin says he is “deeply offen[ded]” by the election of Trump, and that the election “conflicts with many of [Google’s] values.”
(00:09:10) Trying to explain the motivations of Trump supporters, Senior VP for Global Affairs, Kent Walker concludes: “fear, not just in the United States, but around the world is fueling concerns, xenophobia, hatred, and a desire for answers that may or may not be there.”
(00:09:35) Walker goes on to describe the Trump phenomenon as a sign of “tribalism that’s self-destructive [in] the long-term.”
(00:09:55) Striking an optimistic tone, Walker assures Google employees that despite the election, “history is on our side” and that the “moral arc of history bends towards progress.”
(00:10:45) Walker approvingly quotes former Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi’s comparison between “the world of the wall” with its “isolation and defensiveness” and the “world of the square, the piazza, the marketplace, where people come together into a community and enrich each other’s lives.”
(00:13:10) CFO Ruth Porat appears to break down in tears when discussing the election result.
(00:15:20) Porat promises that Google will “use the great strength and resources and reach we have to continue to advance really important values.”
(00:16:50) Stating “we all need a hug,” she then instructs the audience of Google employees to hug the person closest to them.
(00:20:24) Eileen Noughton, VP of People Operations, promises that Google’s policy team in DC is “all over” the immigration issue and that the company will “keep a close watch on it.”
(00:21:26) Noughton jokes about Google employees asking, ‘Can I move to Canada?’ after the election. She goes on to seriously discuss the options available to Google employees who wish to leave the country.
(00:23:12) Noughton does acknowledge “diversity of opinion and political persuasion” and notes that she has heard from conservative Google employees who say they “haven’t felt entirely comfortable revealing who [they] are.” and urged “tolerance.” (Several months later, the company would fire James Damore allegedly for disagreeing with progressive narratives.)
(00:27:00) Responding to a question about “filter bubbles,” Sundar Pichai promises to work towards “correcting” Google’s role in them
(00:27:30) Sergey Brin praises an audience member’s suggestion of increasing matched Google employee donations to progressive groups.
(00:34:40) Brin compares Trump voters to “extremists,” arguing for a correlation between the economic background of Trump supporters and the kinds of voters who back extremist movements. Brin says that “voting is not a rational act” and that not all of Trump’s support can be attributed to “income disparity.” He suggests that Trump voters might have been motivated by boredom rather than legitimate concerns.
(00:49:10) An employee asks if Google is willing to “invest in grassroots, hyper-local efforts to bring tools and services and understanding of Google products and knowledge” so that people can “make informed decisions that are best for themselves.” Pichai’s response: Google will ensure its “educational products” reach “segments of the population [they] are not [currently] fully reaching.”
(00:54:33) An employee asks what Google is going to do about “misinformation” and “fake news” shared by “low-information voters.” Pichai responds by stating that “investments in machine learning and AI” are a “big opportunity” to fix the problem.
(00:56:12) Responding to an audience member, Walker says Google must ensure the rise of populism doesn’t turn into “a world war or something catastrophic … and instead is a blip, a hiccup.”
(00:58:22) Brin compares Trump voters to supporters of fascism and communism, linking the former movement to “boredom,” which Brin previously linked to Trump voters. “It sort of sneaks up sometimes, really bad things” says Brin.
(01:01:15) A Google employee states: “speaking to white men, there’s an opportunity for you right now to understand your privilege” and urges employees to “go through the bias-busting training, read about privilege, read about the real history of oppression in our country.” He urges employees to “discuss the issues you are passionate about during Thanksgiving dinner and don’t back down and laugh it off when you hear the voice of oppression speak through metaphors.” Every executive on stage – the CEO, CFO, two VPs and the two Co-founders – applaud the employee.
(01:01:57) An audience member asks if the executives see “anything positive from this election result.” The audience of Google employees, and the executives on stage, burst into laughter. “Boy, that’s a really tough one right now” says Brin."
Hah, as if we didn't know! But why be surprised? This is Eric Schmidt, Google CEO, on Election Night... in the Javits Center, where the Dems intended to throw a party after Felonia Von Pantsuit's certain win:
Well, as you may or may not know, Google HQ is situated in Mountain View, near San José, smack in the middle of La La Land aka Prog Country. Let us now have a look at the glorious multiculti paradise our moral betters in the video have in store for us the Great Unwashed, IF ONLY we would be intelligent enough to vote for their progressive candidates, by Janet Levy over at American Thinker:
"With crime soaring, rampant homelessness, sanctuary state status attracting the highest illegal immigrant population in the country and its “worst state in the U.S. to do business” ranking for more than a decade, California and its expansive, debt-ridden, progressive government is devolving into a third-world country. In cities such as San Francisco, public defecation is legal, drug use is flagrant, and tent cities are designated biohazards. In once pristine San Diego, contractors have been spraying down homeless encampments with household bleach to stave off a hepatitis A epidemic. The so-called “Golden State,” which now has the highest poverty rate in the nation, is tarnished beyond recognition with such serious problems that the sublime climate and striking coastline may no longer be enough to sustain its reputation and cachet. With laws that benefit criminals and illegals, big government that endeavors to control every aspect of residents’ lives from plastic bags to straws; sanctioned street, tent, and vehicle dwelling; and an unaffordable overhyped bullet train boondoggle that will cost taxpayers almost $100 billion, California is headed for economic disaster."
Wouldn't you justLOVE the Progressive paradise? And if we DON't listen to these smart people's good advice on how to vote - who know what's best for us - we're gonna find ourselves in DEEP SHIT, like:
But back to the Breitbart article! As soon as Google got wind of Breitbart posting the leaked video, it tried to assure 'us Normals', as Col. Schlichter is wont to say.
“At a regularly scheduled all hands meeting, some Google employees and executives expressed their own personal views in the aftermath of a long and divisive election season. For over 20 years, everyone at Google has been able to freely express their opinions at these meetings. Nothing was said at that meeting, or any other meeting, to suggest that any political bias ever influences the way we build or operate our products. To the contrary, our products are built for everyone, and we design them with extraordinary care to be a trustworthy source of information for everyone, without regard to political viewpoint.”
It was not 'radical islam'. It was not 'extremist' islam.
It was ISLAM tout court. This horrible, inhuman 'faith', the very existence of which is a stain on humanity, has since its inception out of the pathological, deluded brain of an illiterate desert dweller, not ceased to be a burden to mankind, causing tremendous suffering and death at worst and inexcusable backwardness at best.
On this day, we remember the thousands who died because of this totalitarian ideology masquerading as a religion. As horrible as the 9/11 death toll is, it pales in comparison to the hundreds of millions who lost their lives because of islam throughout the centuries.
Let us also remember that there were times when people understood the intrinsic evil nature of muhammedanism. On many occasions, people rose to the challenge when confronted by muslim invaders and repelled them. As a fitting example, recall the successful defeat of muslim armies exactly 1,300 years ago at Constantinople, when the Byzantine Emperor Leo III and the Bulgarian King Tervel (or Trebellius) defeated the armies and navies of the Umayyad Caliphate led by Maslama ibn al-Malik. The siege lasted for over a year, beginning in July 717. The Arabs managed to install a blockade of Constantinople, but were repelled on land by the massive Theodosian Walls and at sea by the Byzantine Navy's use of Greek fire:
Terribly weakened by a severe winter, in the Spring and Summer of 718 the muslim armies found themselves between a rock and a hard place when Tervels army appeared in their rear and they couldn't succeed in breaching Constantinople's ramparts in front of them. On 15 August 718, the remnants of the Umayyad armies lifted the siege. What remained of their fleet was all but destroyed by natural causes (a volcano eruption on Santorini amongst others) or pursuing Byzantine vessels.
Greek fire. An incendiary liquid, pressurized in a sealed and heated cooker, was squirted through a nozzle at the end of which a flame ignited the liquid. The appearance in battle must have resembled a flamethrower.
A mere 15,000 Byzantines and Bulgars had beaten a 120,000 strong islamic army, and southeast Europe was spared the muslim yoke for another 700 years.
Immediately post 9/11, the West, instead of closing its borders to anyting islamic, welcomed them with open arms. A move which has over the past 19 years led to such a truly MASSIVE influx of muslims in our countries that future historians will be puzzled at the obvious suicidal wish not only of our leaders but also of large swaths of our population.
May sanity prevail yet, but it is clear that the fight to preserve the West in any recognizable state will be an extremely tough challenge. In particular because so many among us want our own destruction.
While the vandals were ransacking Rome, the elites partied and fornicated. And while the muslim presence in Antwerp is going crescendo, the swiftly vanishing whites engage in ever more insane evolutionary deadend forays.
"Kindergarten and basic school K'do in Antwerp has taken some measures because they noticed that several pupils had trouble with their identity, and felt neither like a boy nor a girl. The school no longer has separate toilets and also does not want anymore to split up the pupils in the classical way like boys and girls."
"THIS ANTWERP SCHOOL HAS GENDER NEUTRAL TOILETS.
"In our school boys and girls can choose which toilet they will use", says principal Tine Embrechts. "They are no longer divided up in boys and girls." Also, the school no longer has a Mother- or Father's Day anymore, just simply a "Parent Day" - because much more children than before now have two mamas or two papas. During classes, girls can do boy things galore and vice versa."
I take it that K'do (what a silly name is that) is one of a small number of bobo schools for designerkids from Gutmenschen parents where there aren't too many follower of the prophet kiddos - yet. These fools are deluding themselves that they can make their gender phantasmagorias blossom even in the face of the undeniable demographic shift.
THIS, however, is REALITY, no matter how much Madam Embrechts wants to believe that even if a kid has a penis, it can still claim it's a girl and the other way round:
"... Allochtons are strongly represented in demography and unemployment, data from the City of Antwerp prove. The allochton population increases year after year, while the authochton population diminishes. over 58 per cent of Antwerp's inhabitants is of foreign extraction. In the unemployment statistics too, allochtons are strongly represented..."
....
... These numbers also appear in the demographic statistics of the City of Antwerp. Between 2012 and 2018 the authochton population of Antwerp decreased in all age categories. With allochtons, one sees the exact opposite. It increases in all age categories. The number of authochtons until 19 years decreased with 6,308. With Antwerpians of foreign extraction we see the opposite. The number of allochtons until 19 years of age increased with 16,863."
The caption reads:
"Antwerp: almost 75 per cent of the age group 0-9 years of foreign extraction".
But please, go ahead with your gender insanity, Principal Tine Embrechts!!! Until you run out of your precious pupils who can't figure out whether they are boys or girls, anyway!
Lenny Kravitz with Mr. Cab Driver. From his debut album Let Love Rule (1989).
I remember it well from my MTV watching days. The album spawned two other singles, I build this garden for us and Let Love Rule. Kravitz was quite the revelation that autumn of 1989.
Genesis with Hairless Heart. From the concept album The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (1974).
Still have no idea what these guys were smoking at the time, but judging by Gabriel's costumes it must have been strong stuff. Anyway Marnix B., a belated thx for getting me to know TLLDOB.
Austria and France amongst others have strong 'Génération Identitaire' groups. Flanders, Belgium's Flemish-speaking northern half, has a similar group calling itself 'Schild en Vrienden' [lit. 'Shield and Friends' - MFBB]. Which is a playful variant on the famous 'Schild en Vriend' 'password' Flemish patriots used to discern French from Flemish prior to the Battle of the Golden Spurs in 1302, in which a Flemish militia utterly defeated and routed the cream of French knighthood.
Below you see a video shot earlier this year, where frontman Dries Van Langenhoven explains how they are going to tackle the occupation by a leftist mob of a famous landmark in Ghent, the 'Gravensteen':
Schild en Vrienden has now come in the crosshairs by all of "well"-meaning Belgium because of the allegedly racist/sexist/antisemitic/take your pick content on their Facebook page.
Fleshing out later today, but to me it looks like an orchestrated attempt to divert attention away from truly epic revelations concerning the involvement of up to one in six city council members in the international drug trade in gloriously multicultural Antwerp earlier this week.
..... (update) I promised I would flesh it out, and for once I'm keeping my promise:
From the material available I had the time to check out, I guess that by far the biggest anti S & V gun is a Facebook post by Dries Van Langenhoven's presumed right hand man, a certain Louis De Stoop. It shows De Stoop being photographed near the Eiffel Tower, alongside a 1940 photo of the Fuehrer in about the same location, with the caption "Posing before the Eiffel Tower, who did it best"?
The media have whipped up a veritable shitstorm against Schild en Vrienden but for now the sound and fury is drowning out the 'evidence'. In other words, politicians, media talking heads, deans and principals, celebs et al are huffing and puffing about how horribly racist/sexist/antisemitic/homophobic the Flemish GI equivalent is, but the material being published to prove it is meagre, to say the least. I concur that the above photo is A BIG NO NO, but there are two possibilities here:
a.) Either De Stoop was serious, and then he should be booted out immediately. In any decent rightwing organization there can be no question whatsoever of ever admitting neonazis. Not only is Nazi doctrine inhuman and decidedly un-Christian, but also and just as importantly, Nazis were socialists. The very Nazi party acronym, NSDAP, stands for Nazional Sozialistische Deutsche Arbeiter Partei, or National SOCIALIST German WORKERS party. Anyone who swoons before nazi icons must be told in no uncertain terms that "The Right" is not the right place for him or her to be. Nazi economic policy was at heart Keynesianist, as opposed to Austrian school economics. Nazi Germany strived to become an autarky - the very opposite of free markets. Like their ideological brothers the Communists, Nazis strived to make the State an omnipotent watcher of the individual's every private move... by contrast, real rightwingers are fierce champions of freedom (insofar, of course, that pursuing this freedom does not hamper of harm other individuals).
b.) Or De Stoop's post was made in jest, and then it's a caption in bad taste. It's not impossible. In the comments sections of several rightwing sites, I myself have on at least two occasions blurted out "Wehrmacht come back! All is forgiven!" This in reaction to the umpteenth calamity caused by feckless security services acting inefficiently to this or that muslim terror deed or provocation in the public square. Now, would I really want the Wehrmacht to come back? Of course not! In September 1944, my grandfather and father, then a 10 year old kid, stood watching along the street in front of their house as German columns were retreating in great haste and disarray. My grandfather, typical for his personality, rather obviously smirked at the beaten soldiers of the Fuehrer. I will forever remember my father's description of what suddenly happened: a vehicle came to a stop, a fuming officer got out, pulled his pistol, and threatened to shoot my grandfather on the spot. My father told me that it was only his own loud crying and frantic clutching of his father's leg that prevented the officer from doing it. Grandpa was very lucky and came off with a stern warning and probaby an insult or two. My dad could grow up in peace, and somewhere along the timeline that resulted in yours truly being conceived and born. Now, this is but a very innocent display of Wehrmacht power and behaviour in the occupied countries. Would I genuinely wish for that and worse to come back? Certainly not! But I guess I thought I could score in the comments with a snarky phrase like that. And De Stoop might have thought that too with his Eiffel Tower remark.
Regardless, in the myriad of articles and references to Schild en Vrienden - here is a screenshot:
.... extremely little "evidence" is being brought forward of the alleged "racism", "sexism", "antisemitism", xenophoboism or whatever other ism causes tantrums in watermelons. The above photo by De Stoop actually does not even figure among the 'proof'. Indeed, while Dries Van Langenhoven was thrown out of his university, Ugent, (the Catholic University of Leuven has already offered - sob, sob, sob - to give him a second chance, if he repents for the horrible crime of being a patriot) Louis De Stoop is 'allowed' to stay. There IS no proof, unless you consider the fact that Dries Van Langenhoven once tweeted of wrote something like "I would like to use the word negro just to see what happens" as 'evidence' of racism.
I have therefore concluded that the hysterical media frenzy about a group which after all is still fringe in the Belgian/Flemish political landscape must be viewed in the current context, namely, there's municipal elections in a month. And the Schild and Vrienden affair is a stick to beat N-VA with, Flander's most powerful party, some kind of Vlaams Belang lite. Now, I have no use for N-VA, which stands for Nieuw-Vlaamse Alliantie (New Flemish Alliance), because it is a Janus party essentially. It gives the impression that it is center right, but at heart it is not so different from the other Gutmenschen parties. For one thing, although N-VA constantly boasts that the Immigration Minister it has provided to tackle the Europeanwide crisis in this domain, a certain Theo Francken, is a tough guy, the reality is that under Francken, between 120,000 and 200,000 asylum applicants from so-called war zones have, over the past two to three years, gotten their requests validated. At least 52,000 family members who curiously stayed back in the war zones have gotten the green light to follow their brave kind and come to our shores too.
But Belgium, land of pussies, would not be Belgium if even the less than mediocre performance of men like Theo Francken wouldn't be too much for the Greens and Socialists, who can't wait to turn the country into the Third World and reduce Whites to minority status.
"In an explosive interview with De Volkskrant De Wever says that the normal balance of power in his city is giving way under pressure of the enormous sums of money courtesy the cocaine traffic. Money that, he says, is seeping through throughout the whole of society "by gifts to mosque nonprofits, unofficial loans to people in certain neighborhoods who cannot or will not go to a bank, by employing people in shops which are shops in name only but serve in reality criminal purposes: telephone shops, fish markets, shisabars..."
More than half of the intercepted cocaine in Latin America is destined for Belgium.
The mayor even goes one step further: "This money will buy influence in politics. I dare say: in Antwerp we have arrived on the stage that de drugs mafia is going to buy political influence". He adds that there are city council members of which he strongly suspects they are members of the cocaine mafia."
... and Red and Green shrieked hysterically that he should come forward with names. De Wever pointing with his finger to laundered cocaine money finding its way to MOSQUES, how dare he???
Two days later the non-story about Schild en Vrienden broke loose. It was: a.) the perfect item to divert attention away from drug trafficking by muslim nonprofits; and: b.) the perfect tool to beat N-VA with, since several Schild en Vrienden members are/were (?) on N-VA lists for the upcoming elections, and many, many ordinary N-VA members left likes on Schild en Vrienden's Facebook page.
It has worked extremely well. In the blink of an eye, Mayor De Wever's very serious allegations about the involvement of City Council members in the drug trade were forgotten. Politicans from all sides including N-VA (but luckily not Vlaams Belang), tripped over each other's feet to condemn 'racism' and distance themselves from Schild en Vrienden. In a normal country, the media would do everything to unearth the downright frightening mechanisms behind Antwerp's role as European Cocaine Carrousel, the influence that cocaine money is buying in the upper strata of Antwerp society, and the rise of deadly violence (drug cartel related shootings and grenade attacks in Antwerp and surroundings), and relegate the S and V non-item to fourteenth stage. Alas, Belgium is no normal country.
Because an honest media's inquiries and investigations would only disclose the fact that the groups behind the drug traffic are essentially Moroccan. Thus, islamic. Nah. We CAN'T have that.
Hence, the sudden shitstorm around Schild en Vrienden. I wish Mr Van Langenhoven all the luck. If the whole affair proves anything, it's that we need more Van Langenhovens.
The most interesting development in European politics in August was the announcement of the formation of an 'Anti-Immigration Axis' by Hungarian PM Viktor Orbán and Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini. Via The Gatestone Institute:
"Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor and Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini have pledged to create an "anti-immigration axis" aimed at countering the pro-migration policies of the European Union.
Meeting in Milan on August 28, Orbán and Salvini, vowed to work together with Austria and the Visegrad Group — the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia — to oppose a pro-migration group of EU countries led by French President Emmanuel Macron.
Orbán and Salvini are seeking a coordinated strategy ahead of the March 2019 European Parliament elections to defeat the pro-immigration Party of European Socialists (PES), a pan-European party representing national-level socialist parties from all EU member states. The objective is to change the political composition of European institutions, including the European Parliament and the European Commission, to reverse the EU's open-door migration policies.
At a joint press conference, Salvini said:
"Today begins a journey that will continue in the coming months for a different Europe, for a change of the European Commission, of European policies, which puts at the center the right to life, work, health, safety, all that the European elites, financed by [billionaire Hungarian philanthropist George] Soros and represented by Macron, deny.
"We are close to a historic turning point at the continental level. I am astonished at the stupor of a political left that now exists only to challenge others and believes that Milan should not host the president of a European country, as if the left has the authority to decide who has the right to speak and who does not — and then they wonder why no one votes for them anymore.
"This is the first of a long series of meetings to change destinies, not only of Italy and of Hungary, but of the whole European continent."
Orbán added:
"European elections will be held soon, and many things must change. At the moment there are two sides in Europe: One is led by Macron, who supports mass migration. The other side is led by countries that want to protect their borders. Hungary and Italy belong to the latter.
"Hungary has shown that we can stop migrants on land. Salvini has shown that migrants can be stopped at sea. We thank him for protecting Europe's borders.
"Migrants must be sent back to their countries. Brussels says we cannot do it. They also said it was impossible to stop migrants on land, but we did it.
"Salvini and I, we seem to share the same destiny. He is my hero."
This is positive news, and one that finally gives hope for real change. After all, no matter how bold the leaders of the Visegrad Group are, their countries - Poland, pop. 39 million, the Czech Republic, pop. around 10 million, Slovakia, pop. ca. 5 million, and Hungary, pop. ca. 10 million - represent only around 12 per cent of the EU populationwise. But if Italy, pop. 60 million, and presumably Austria, pop. around 8.5 million, join in, that's becoming something of a gamechanger. It's too bad that the Spaniards have just elected a socialist government again, for the umpteenth time proving their neverending stupidity to swerve to the left as soon a center right government has cleaned up the g*dforsaken mess left by the previous socialist goons. In practice, this has resulted, in the past few months, of the taking in of 'refugees' in Spain who were denied entry to the EU via Italy - thereby effectively nixing Italy's policy.
There remain many obstacles on the way, of course. Merkel's end has been announced a million times but for the time being she remains politically incontournable and with her the determination to destroy Europe as it was. France's Macron, too, remains firmly committed to import the Third World and bring down his own country. More serious than these individuals however, is their electorate, which keeps voting these monsters in office time and again. That's what I would call the big challenges.
'Small' challenges are e.g. the fact that even Italy and Hungary do not yet see eye to eye as regards immigration, since many in Italy are as yet merely complaining about the Dublin Regulation, instead of wanting to block immigration tout court. The Dublin Regulation requires immigrants to apply for asylum in the country where they set first foot on European soil - a measure which, for obvious reasons, places far more stress on Italy than, say, on landlocked Luxembourg.
But nevertheless, this move towards an anti-immigration alliance proves that the spirit of the Visegrad Four is spreading westwards. Let us hope it continues beyond Italy, and that by March 2019, when elections take place for the European Parliament, this axis is strong enough to defeat the main adversary, the PES (Party of European Socialists), for which population replacement is the Number One priority.
During the last Ice Age (or so it seems) there was this UK band The Rumour. Frozen Years, a single from their album Frogs, Sprouts, Clogs and Krauts (1979)
Backup band for Graham Parker, but this album they did on and for their own. Typical early colour music video - don't you love the grain.
New Order with The Perfect Kiss. Album Low_Life (1985).
In the week that was, Demonrats went completely berserk in the States, convincing themselves that two dead horses (Manafort partially pleading guilty and Cohen confirming The Donald's hush money for a porn actress) automatically would result in The President somehow having to stop, well, being President.
Their ululating all but managed to force the far more important issue of Mollie Tibbets' tragic death at the hands of an illegal immigrant into obscurity. Yet her gruesome murder is no standalone case and a portender of what is yet to come if the borders remain leaking like a sieve.
It's not much different in Europe, where only the most ghastly cases of autochtons meeting a tragic and most often painful death in encounters with illegals make a blip on the radar.
And yet there is far more going on than Maria raped and strangled in Freiburg, Mia stabbed to death in Kandel, or that doctor murdered by a Somali in Offenburg, see e.g. this video, courtesy of Gates of Vienna, which makes the case - backed by government stats - that there are on average more than one hundred assaults committed by migrants against Germans every day.
Transript:
00:00 “Germany — Safest it has been for 25 years!” The media choir enthusiastically said when
00:04 Interior Minister Seehofer presented the police crime statistics (PKS) May 2018.
00:10 That is not exactly true according to Frank Haubold’s analysis
00:15 of the Federal Situation Report 2017 of the BKA “Crime in the context of immigration”
00:20 The media barely reported anything on this report also released in May 2018
00:25 likely because it shows the catastrophic increase in immigrant crime since 2014
00:29 the year before the Merkel government prompted the border opening
00:35 — for everyone — according to Haubold. Overall, the proportion of crimes
00:39 with immigrants as suspects remained almost constant from 2016 to 2017.
00:43 More insightful, however, is the comparison with the year 2014
00:47 with a dramatic increase of 252% from 115,000 to 290,000 offenses!
00:52 However, the most frightening number can be found on page 54
00:56 under the heading “Case constellation: immigrants suspects — victims German”
01:02 documents 39,096 German victims of immigrant crime — a new high in 2017.
01:10 An increase of 23.7 percent over the previous year (31,597)
01:14 In reverse (German suspects, immigrants victims) 6,832 cases were recorded.
01:19 This corresponds to a ratio of 5.7 to one.
01:22 In the supposedly safest Germany since 1992, almost 40,000 Germans
01:26 were victims of crime committed by those “seeking protection” in 2017
01:30 and thus almost six times more than in reverse constellation.
01:36 This means that every single day of the year more than 100 German citizens
01:40 were and will become victims of crimes with at least one immigrant as a suspect
01:44 and the trend is rising.
This news came on top of other disturbing stats which MSM chose to ignore. Thank The Gatestone Institute for them:
"The number of Salafists in Germany has doubled over the last five years and now exceeds 10,000 for the first time, according to Germany's BfV domestic intelligence agency. BfV estimates that Germany is home to more than 25,000 Islamists, nearly 2,000 of whom pose an immediate threat of attack.
The new figures are included the latest annual report of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz, BfV), and presented by Interior Minister Horst Seehofer and BfV President Hans-Georg Maaßen in Berlin on July 24.
The report, considered the most important indicator of internal security in Germany, draws a bleak picture. The BfV estimates that the number of Islamists in Germany increased to at least 25,810 by the end of 2017, up from 24,425 in 2016.
Strangely, the report does not provide any estimates for the number of followers of the Islamic State or al-Qaeda living in Germany. As a result, the actual number of Islamists in Germany is undoubtedly higher than 25,810.
According to the report, Salafists comprise the single largest Islamist group in Germany. The number of Salafists in Germany jumped to 10,800 in 2017, up from 9,700 in 2016; 8,350 in 2015; 7,000 in 2014; 5,500 in 2013 and 4,500 in 2012."
The road to hell is asphalted and provided with markings and signs by leftists.
Like basically all Prager University's videos it's a decent lesson, but the prime reason I post it now is the following. Via Breitbart:
"Social media giant Facebook has apologized to conservative non-profit group PragerU for banning multiple videos on the group’s Facebook page for “hate speech,” and the subsequent shadowbanning of the group’s page, which resulted in a 99.9999% drop in traffic."

Sorry for teh followers of teh prophet in teh video.
And then a modest tribute to the Queen of Soul, who sadly departed us last week. I say a little prayer. From the 1968 album Aretha Now.
OK, originally written for Dionne Warwick by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, but Franklin's version always stuck more. RIP Aretha. I say a little prayer for you.
Elizabeth Heng, of Cambodian origin, is the GOP nominee running to represent California’s 16th Congressional District, and recently she had her ad yanked by Facebook. According to Heng, "Facebook is censoring the voices of Americans with non-leftist views."
Naturally, the goons at Fakebook had the perfect excuse, since the content of the ad was 'too graphic' for their tastes. Right at the beginning you can see some killing field shots:
Duh. "Upon further review" huh? You mean, like watching beyond the 0:05 mark? Methinks it's rather BECAUSE you did just that and saw the rest of the video that you decided to nix it. Because the rest makes it clear that here is a stellar example of the American Dream come true for LEGAL immigrants who DON'T need cradle to grave welfare and who've done their damnedest BEST to contribute to the country that gave them a new life and new chances.
Although I will cut Mark Suckerberg some slack: it's not only the above. In his defense, we can say that the Hengs do not seem to be either gay or criminals.
OK, bottom line. Elizabeth Heng got her video disabled because she's a Republican. And if you are minority that's a HUGE problem for our moral betters.
We wish Ms. (Mrs.?) Heng all the luck with beating her Dem opponent!
As an aside, in Khmer Rouge Cambodia only the government had guns:
Who was Sir John Alexander Macdonald (11 January 1815 – 6 June 1891)? He was Canada's first Prime Minister, serving two terms (1867–1873 and 1878–1891). Born in Scotland, this immigrant boy whose parents came to Kingston (then in the Province of Upper Canada) trained as a lawyer and became politically active early on so that in 1844 he was elected to the legislature of the then Province of Canada.
He and his main political rival, George Brown, united their parties in a Grand Coalition to expedite the forming of a federation. In the subsequent political machinations he emerged as the strongest and ablest leader so that after the British North America Act and the birth of Canada as a nation on July 1st, 1867, he became the new state's first PM.
Though his career was not entirely free of scandals and controversies, any historian worth his salt will agree that Macdonald proved an excellent steward for the newest Dominion, setting it on the path to a successful industrialized nation - which by necessity required a decent railroad network, in a country of that size and with Mother Nature imposing sizeable challenges, no mean feat.
Indeed, historical rankings have resulted in Sir Macdonal's being rated as one of the best Prime Ministers in Canada's history.
And now leftist lunatics have removed a statue of Macdonald from outside Victoria City Hall, "as part of the city's program for reconciliation with local First Nations", as mayor Lisa Helps helpfully explains:
Steyn:
"... I'm with Blatch - the great Christie Blatchford, my esteemed colleague from the glory days of The National Post. She's had enough of it, and so have I - whether it's the toppling of Field Marshal Smuts in Cambridge, President McKinley in California, Sir John A Macdonald in Victoria. The urge to erase the past is totalitarian. Yet what Pol Pot did, by re-making the world and proclaiming Year Zero, is now the default setting of every social-justice nitwit. Here's what Christie says:
I don't know about anyone else, but I have a bad case of revisionist-history/apology fatigue. I am pretty much done.
The Langevin Block in Ottawa is gone, now cursed with the gormless title of The Office of the Prime Minister and the Privy Council. The Langevin Bridge in Calgary is gone, now the Reconciliation Bridge. Both were changed because the Langevin in question, Sir Hector-Louis Langevin, a Father of Confederation, was also a supporter of the residential school system.
At the time of the decision to rename the bridge, one of the Calgary city councillors in favour of it promised that the plaque that would be placed on the bridge some day (it still doesn't appear to be there) "won't be vilifying" Langevin.
Well, when the City of Victoria packed up the statue of Sir John A. Macdonald last weekend and replaced it with a plaque, said plaque explained that the removal was done to "show progress on the path of reconciliation" while "the City, the Nations and the wider community grapple with Macdonald's complex history as both the first Prime Minister of Canada and a leader of violence against Indigenous Peoples."
That's close enough to vilification for me.
Agreed, agreed, agreed. I'm sick of replacing something - "the Langevin Block", "the Langevin Bridge" - with nothing - "the Office of the Prime Minister and the Privy Council", "the Reconciliation Bridge". The latter is just fatuous pap, and the former is not a name but merely a description of what's taking place inside the building. But that's all we can do, because we can't even take the risk of re-naming the joint. Because today's hero-of-the-day - the first transgender nominee for Governor of Vermont, say - will inevitably be revealed in thirty years' time to have been unsound on intersexual Muslima cloning or whatever. Because getting "woke" is one thing, but staying "woke" and "woke"-to-the-minute is all but impossible:
'Queer Eye' Star Jonathan Van Ness Under Fire After Saying 'Not All Republicans Are Racist'
The "leaders of violence" are those engaged in a systematic assault on not just national history but our entire civilizational inheritance. And the wimp conservatives who string along with this are merely licensing the next provocation. In Canada, much of this drivel derives from fainthearted ninnies twenty years ago who meekly accepted charges of "cultural genocide" - which is exactly like genocide, except for the peripheral detail of not requiring any actual corpses. Here's me two decades ago:
Only a generation or two back, governments thought they were doing native children a favour by teaching them the English language and the principles of common law and the great sweep of imperial history, that by doing so they were bringing young Indians and Inuit 'within the circle of civilised conditions'. It's only 40 years ago, but that's one memory the government of Canada will never recover. No civilised society legislates retrospective- ly: if you pass a seat-belt law in 1990, you don't prosecute people who were driving without them in 1980. Likewise, we should not sue the past for non-compliance with the orthodoxies of the present.
But we did. So surrendering on "residential schools" led to the re-classification of Canada's first prime minister as "a leader of violence" by the City of Victoria. And, if Sir John is a leader of violence, how can the very city be named for the Queen who knighted him and sent a wreath to his funeral? Shouldn't Victoria be renamed Reconciliationville? Or, per the Langevin Block, "the City of the Office of the Mayor and the Municipal Council"?
And what about Casimir Gzowski, who laid Her Majesty's wreath upon the "leader of violence"'s coffin? Shouldn't his busts and memorials be removed, too? And Sir Casimir Gzowski Park in Toronto be renamed Transgender Bathroom Park?
And what about Sir Casimir's great-great-grandson, beloved Canadian radio host Peter Gzowski? Shouldn't he be removed from the CBC archives? Or at any rate shouldn't Gzowski College at Trent University and the Gzowski branch of Georgina public libraries be renamed just in case somebody is triggered by the thought that they might be named not after Peter but after the great-great-grandpa who had the effrontery to lay the queen of violence's wreath of violence on the leader of violence's grave or violence?
This is not an assault on historical figures; this is an assault on history itself - on the very idea that ancient societies have a past, or roots, or historical continuity, or anything other than the fashions of the moment.
I'm with Blatch: Enough. Even if you accept every slur hurled at McKinley, Macdonald, Smuts and whoever's next, the cure is worse than the disease. To demolish the past means to live in a dictatorship of the present tense. To hell with that."
And here is Ezra Levant's take:
I tried to check out Lisa Helps' bio but it seems the mayor is 'intensely noncommunicative' about her private life. But all alarm lights indicating climate loonism, self hatred, feminazism, LGBTQWERTY aficionadoism or whatchamacallit, terminal do gooderism etc etc etc are bright red and their buzzers are doing overtime.
I hope this c*nt gets the boot at the next elections and a political figure of far greater stature and importance gets his rightful place back. One keeps wondering how this creature could ever become mayor in the first place. But then one can say the same about the idiot running the entire country. These are sad times.
"Riots have torn through Sweden, as gangs of masked youths torch cars and throw stones at police in a destructive rampage.
Footage shared on Twitter shows some of the largest blazes in the Trollhättan area north of Gothenburg, Sweden's second-largest city.
As many as 40 young people are believed to have hurled missiles at the police and torched dozens of cars in a car park outside a hospital and shopping centre.
Police say they are also battling gangs setting fire to cars in Hjällbo, northeast of Gothenburg; in Malmo, in the south of the country; and in the city of Helsingborg."
"Officers said Tuesday that up to 100 cars had been either burnt to or vandalized in the city and in nearby towns such as Trollhattan, an industrial area with high unemployment, and Falkenberg. Falkenberg contains gender-segregated asylum seeker homes and police have been repeatedly attacked en mass in nearby Trollhattan, with well knows Islamic State fighters hailing from the area. Such areas, with large migrant populations, have become hotspots for violence in the Nordic nation in recent years with many described as “no-go zones.”
Fires were also reported on a smaller scale in Malmo, Sweden’s third largest city.
Sweden is to hold national elections in less than a month, and left-wing Prime Minister Stefan Löfven reacted angrily to the latest attacks, blasting the perpetrators directly.
“I’m getting pissed off – really! My question to these people is what the hell are you doing?” he said on a radio show according to Aftonbladet, promising to push for harsher penalties against those involved. “It seems very organized, almost like a military operation,” he said, adding: “My message to those involved is that there is no disappointment, frustration, or injustice that motivates you to turn on someone else’s car.”
What a sorry, PATHETIC excuse not only for PM, but for a mere man. Balless, childless Lofven is the same dork who expressed astonishment when President Trump a year and a half ago pointed to Sweden as the posterchild for the dangers of allowing unbridled (muslim) immigration. Oh how all the holier-than-thou types reacted. Let's recap, via Tribune dot com, FEB 20, 2017:
"STOCKHOLM: Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven said Monday he was “surprised” by US President Donald Trump’s remarks linking the arrival of a wave of migrants with a supposed rise in violence in the Scandinavian country.
“I was, like many others I believe, surprised by the comments made about Sweden this weekend,” Lofven said during a joint press conference in Stockholm with visiting Canadian Governor General David Johnston.
Trump, speaking in Florida on Saturday, said; “You look at what’s happening in Germany, you look at what’s happening last night in Sweden. Sweden, who would believe this? Sweden. They took in large numbers. They’re having problems like they never thought possible”.
World joins Swedes in mocking Trump’s terror[ble] lie
The comment baffled Swedes and provoked much mockery on social media as nothing major had happened there on Friday evening.
“We have opportunities, we have challenges, we’re working (on) them every day. But I think also we must all take responsibility for using facts correctly, and for verifying any information that we spread,” Lofven said.
Former prime minister Carl Bildt was less diplomatic: “Sweden? Terror attack? What has he been smoking? Questions abound,” he wrote on Twitter on Sunday."
Ah, Carl Bildt, another leftist asshole. The question "Mr" Bildt is what have YOU been smoking? And what ARE you smoking? And speaking about smoking, how about Gothenburg being smoked out:
With every passing day we are witnessing the horrible consequences of importing en masse the Third World in our civilized societies - and to make matters worse, in the grand majority of cases the islamic part of the Third World.
Things will run their inevitable course, and the end won't be pretty. This is just a start:
Perhaps most heartbreaking of all is this snippet from Breitbart:
Contacted their parents huh? Like, "Hello Mr and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs and Mrs Mahmood, we have to talk about your dear son Mohammed (PBUH) Mahmood since it appears your littl'un last night decided to throw a party ✨- all very understandable of course ha ha 😜, and, ah, it got a little bit out of hand 🙄, and now there's a LOT more CO2 in the air and you know the planet can't have that 😢. Not that it's SO bad haha LOLZ 🤣🤣🤣 now could we just sort this out over a cup of tea please and then all will be right 😊 💕💕?"
FOOLS. Sweden the Humanitarian Superpower? Looks more like a Schtoopiditarian Superpower to me.
Some of us may have heard about the case of Elin Ersson, the Swedish student activist who prevented the deportation of an Afghan asylum seeker (and known criminal) by live-streaming her protest to Facebook from inside the plane due to fly from Goteborg to Istanbul. Regular Lurker Leo Norekens mentioned it in the comments section last week - maybe you noticed.
Paul Joseph Watson has now posted a brief but damning diagnosis of the terminal pathology Mrs Ersson, and so many others, suffer.
Meanwhile, Goteborg is burning, but it's got absolutely nothing to do with the kind of poor sods Mrs Ersson is so proud to stand up for. More on that tomorrow.
Giulio Meotti over at The Gatestone Institute has the goods on the increasing number of in-your-face muslim manifestations throughout Europe:
"A few months ago, a global media tempest erupted after Polish Catholics held a mass public prayer event across the country. The BBC deemed it "controversial", due to "concerns it could be seen as endorsing the state's refusal to let in Muslim migrants".
The same controversy, however, did not erupt in Britain when 140,000 Muslims prayed in Birmingham's Small Heath Park, in an event organized by the Green Lane Mosque to mark the end of Ramadan.
France is debating whether or not to block prayer on the street. "They will not have prayers on the street, we will prevent street praying" Interior Minister Gerard Collomb announced.
"Public space cannot be taken over in this way", said the president of the Paris regional council, Valérie Pécresse, who led a protest by councilors and MPs. In Italy, hundreds of Muslims prayed next to Colosseum, and Muslim prayers were held in front of Milan's Cathedral.
The numbers are telling. When Muslims throughout Europe celebrated the final day of Islam's holy month of Ramadan with public prayers, city squares -- from Naples (Italy) to Nice (France) -- overflowed. The annual Birmingham event began in 2012 with 12,000 faithful. Two years later, the number of the faithful rose to 40,000. In 2015, it was 70,000. In 2016, the number was 90,000. In 2017, it was 100,000. In 2018, the number was 140,000. Next year?"
This has absolutely got NOTHING to do with peacefully concluding a period of fasting. Whereby the fasting is bogus anyway, since during the evenings and nights muslims gobble and guzzle down what they missed during daytime, and then some - but that's another aspect.
No, mass manifestations like this are a challenge, they are meant to be a show of force, a means to INTIMIDATE.
May the scoundrels who allowed this gruesome invasion, which in time will devour beautiful, neat, prosperous, efficient, and competent Europe, one day pay their fair share.
I deeply, passionately love the mountains. Dunno why that is - apparently my neurons are wired just that way. But Nature played a trick on me. I'm not completely free of vertigo. So while I cannot resist the call of the mountains, chains and via ferrata do scare me - every time again I have to conquer my inner self before I can conquer the iron ladder with the steps driven in bare rock. And I'm definitely never gonna end up halfway a perpendicular stone wall the way some of the guys in the following video do:
Until six years ago, I dreamed of one day making it to the top of the Matterhorn. I came as far as the Hoernlihuette, at 3,320m, looked up at that great conical mass that's the real thing, and knew I would NEVER make it to THAT top. I know my limits and am content with that; my mind is at ease. And there's still so many lesser summits to scale which are within my reach. For next year I have set my sights on Switzerland's Weissmies (4,017m). I climbed Allalinhorn (4,025m) in the same canton - Wallis - with no problems whatsoever (using the services of a guide to be sure). And I'm told that if you can do Allalinhorn Weissmies won't be a problem either. Both mountains are perfect for beginners and would be alpinists like your servant. Another vid with somewhat less glamour gives you an idea of a Weissmies ascent:
We will see! John Muir I know how you felt but for the moment I gotta concentrate on filling both the summer gaps in my finances AND the coffers of the Belgian State!
