RECOMMENDED READS: TODD ROYAL'S "QUESTIONING GLOBAL WARMING".

I have a perfect barometer of my own. My hands. When it's getting colder, not for just a day, or even two, but for a prolonged period, I start having chapped hands. To the point that they start bleeding and that I leave bloodstains every time I write something with a ballpoint pen, or even just put a simple signature on some document.

It is now almost the middle of April, and I am having chapped hands. Earlier this week I was slightly embarrassed to shake a customer's hand, for fear of leaving blood on it - not that I got something nasty to transmit, thank God.

But indeed, for some ten days now, temps over here in Flanders are down by at least some five degrees vs what is considered 'normal' for this time of the year. And when I checked out HLN this morning, this caught my eye:



IN THE COMING NIGHT, IT FREEZES ALMOST EVERYWHERE: UNTIL MINUS 4 DEGREES CENTIGRADE. Apple growers in Haspengouw have been working hard for the past nights with fire pots and covers to protect their blossoms from freezing temperatures.

And that is baaaaad news for the left and their newfound heroine Anuna De Wever, mastermind (or so she thinks) of the weekly climate marches of thousands of school children skipping class for the climate.


Over at American Thinker, Todd Royal takes the case of MMGW to the woodshed:

"In January 2012, sixteen eminent scientists published an article in the Wall Street Journal, titled, “No Need to Panic About Global Warming. If mankind is causing global warming then how do you explain:

“Today’s CO2 concentrations worldwide average about 380 parts per million. This level of CO2 concentration is trivial compared with the concentrations during earlier geologic periods. For example, 460 million years ago, during the Ordovician Period, CO2 concentrations were 4,400 ppm, and temperatures then were about the same as they are today. With such high levels of CO2 the Earth should have been boiling.”

It seems more reasonable to be agnostic based upon this fact:


~ According to the Climate.gov website, the current global average temperature is roughly ‘shy of 60 degrees Fahrenheit. About 55 million years ago – just after the age of the Dinosaurs – the era known as the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum (PETM) saw average global temps as high as 73 degrees Fahrenheit.”



As humans only showed up about 100,000 years ago how do you account for the PETM era? Supposedly, 97% of scientists agree man is the cause of catastrophic GWCC. When in fact that statement is false. Moreover:


~ “A recent study reported in the peer-reviewed Organization Studies found that just 36 percent of earth scientists and engineers believe that humans are creating a climate change crisis. A majority of the 1,077 respondents in the survey believe that nature is the primary cause of recent GWCC.”


What if you believe the 97% scientist debate then why hasn’t this information been widely reported?


~ “The media ignore a petition on the Internet signed by more than 31,000 scientists, including 9,029 PhDs, 7,157 with a master’s of science, and 12, 715 with a bachelor of science degree, all of whom dispute the global warming thesis.”


The GWCC narrative also took a hit when a March 2019 NASA study found the famous Jakobshavn glacier in Greenland was starting to grow again “after retreating about 1.8 miles and thinning nearly 130 feet annually since 2013,” but is growing the past two years (2016-2018). Past natural variability seems to be the cause instead of vetting the scientific consensus that “demands to prove that rising CO2 is causing an effect like melting Greenland ice.”

Are there other factors that determine earth’s heating and cooling other than CO2? According to Professor A. Balasubramanian from the Centre for Advanced Studies in Earth Sciences, University of Mysore:


~ “The climate of a region (or whole earth) is determined by radiation energy of the sun, and its distribution and temporal fluctuations. The long-term state of the atmosphere is a function of variety of interacting elements. They are: Solar radiation, Air masses, Pressure systems (cyclone belts), Ocean Currents, Topography.”



CO2 is a factor that influences regional and global temperatures, and there are considerable questions about the role it plays in recent warming trends in the 20th and 21st century. Climate scientist Vijay Jayaraj cites these weather facts to make the case the earth is actually in danger of global cooling:



~ “There is poor correlation between CO2 emissions and global temperature. Between 2000 and 2018, global temperature showed no significant increase despite a steep increase in carbon dioxide emissions from anthropogenic sources. The same was the case between the years 1940 and 1970. When carbon dioxide concentration increases at a constant and steady rate and temperature doesn’t follow the pattern, we can be certain that carbon dioxide is not the primary driver of global temperature.”



MIT atmospheric physicist, Richard Lindzen, one of the world’s leading climatologists, also believes CO2 is not the main factor in GWCC and figuring out GWCC is a dicey proposition. He questions whether the earth is warming, cooling or somewhere in between – in other words Dr. Lindzen is a skeptic because he doesn’t know if CO2 is the main driver of weather. Climate scientists acknowledge life on earth happens because of the Earth’s positioning in the solar system to the sun and “that the sun is the biggest influencer and driver of global temperature.”

But our moral betters know better of course. Actually, while I wouldn't say I'm scared shitless, I do look forward to the upcoming May elections with more than dread. The ecoloons, i.e. the green parties, especially Groen! in Flanders, stand a good chance to win big, say 15 per cent of the electorate. This is the leading triumvirate of the Flemish Greens:





From left to right Petra De Sutter, formerly Peter De Sutter, but he got his dick chopped off. In other circumstances I would be sympathetic to the guy's plight, however, that dreadful appearance hides a mini-dictator. Then, in the middle, Meyrem Almaci, party chairwoman AND muslima. Don't let her liberal looks fool you, she's all for furthering the ongoing islamization of our formerly Christian countries. Finally to the right Kristof Calvo, a neocommunist who takes econutterism to troposheric heights, and is a proven liar. Some party leadership, huh?

Do these warmists look like clowns?

Yes they do.

But make no mistake, they are dangerous clowns. They are all ideological scions of Jos Geysels, Green party leader in the nineties and one of the leading architects of the cordon sanitaire, which has effectively put my party, the Vlaams Belang, in political quarantine for about a quarter of a century by now. De Sutter, Almaci and Calvo are the kind of people who, if you were living in the German 'Democratic' Republic and they were your neighbors and they caught you listening to Radio Free Europe, would report you to the Stasi.

If they win big enough, they will be incontournable when a government has to be formed, and that will mean carbon taxes, severely curtailing the use of company cars (in spite of the traffic jams, still hugely popular with the working population, even indispensable), enforced vegetarianism, and the installation of a "Climate Czar", yet another completely useless public 'function' whereby some green hack will get dictatorial powers to force all of us big carbon-footprinted chavs to spare Gaia...



It's articles like Todd Royal's that are needed to be brought to attention, for they offer solid arguments with which to fight the reigning climate lunacy.

We see this routinely in their urge to "distance" themselves: In Washington, as I mentioned the other day, House Republicans ostentatiously distanced themselves from their colleague Steve King, because in an ill-advised interview with The New York Times he appeared to endorse "white supremacist" concepts such as "western civilization". For some of us, it's hard to see the point of a conservatism that distances itself from western civilization.

The same fate has now befallen the most thoughtful and serious of living conservative philosophers, Roger Scruton. I have a modest acquaintance with Sir Roger, both personal (he's married to a friend of a friend) and professional: We once appeared in a debate moderated by none other than Margaret Thatcher. Mrs T obviously adored Roger and reckoned I was there just for the cheap laughs.

But that was then, and this is Theresa May's Tory Party. So Roger Scruton gave an interview to The New Statesman, which is left-wing but once employed him as its wine critic. But that was then, etc. At the new New Statesman he fell into the hands of one of those lefties whose goal in the interview is to talk to you for two hours and then pluck three partial quotes uttered twenty-five minutes apart that destroy your career and get you banished from public life. In this case, it was various Scrutonisms on China, Islam, Hungary and homosexuality, all of which are worth thinking about seriously.

But, as I say, that's the leftie hack's objective, and you can't blame him for achieving it. Douglas Murray, quite rightly, is more disgusted by the craven pile-on of so-called conservatives:

Within four hours of Eaton tweeting out his misquotations of Britain's most prominent living philosopher, the housing minister (James Brokenshire) announced that Scruton had been dismissed with immediate effect from his role as Chairman of the 'Building Better Building Beautiful Commission'. The sacking from this unpaid, advisory position came because of these 'unacceptable comments'.




James Brokenshire, "Communities Secretary" and Fake Conservative. With rightwingers like these, who needs wet floorcloths?


What's the point of James Brokenshire? He is the so-called "Communities Secretary" and was formerly a most undistinguished Northern Ireland Secretary. But, more importantly, what's the point of the Conservative government in which he sits? Roger Scruton is a humane and decent person: He wrote a novel about the girls of Rotherham, which none of the more fashionable literary types could be bothered with. He thinks seriously about everything from "Islamophobia" to social dancing. If there is "no place for the likes of Scruton" in public life, then there is no place for conservatism either. Douglas Murray again:

Even today the chances are that when you show up at any institution which has a position in the gift of the government the person still in charge there will be someone who used to write press releases for Tony Blair some two decades ago. And in nine years what have the Conservatives managed? Nothing. Or almost nothing. They pat themselves on the back for their heroism in a single successful appointment, only then – as Brokenshire showed today – to reverse and retreat when a left-wing magazine pumps inaccurate quotes onto social media.

There are many reasons to feel contempt for the modern Conservative party. Personally I can see no reason, after the fiasco they have made of Brexit, to ever vote for them again.

Indeed. I wish Douglas were correct that in nine years the Tories have managed merely to accomplish nothing. On everything from Brexit to Scruton to their new Internet clampdown they are making things worse."

"So the New Statesman decided to interview Sir Roger Scruton. Perhaps there are those who think that Scruton should not have agreed to be interviewed by the New Statesman, the left-wing magazine being unlikely to conduct a fair interview. But Scruton was the magazine’s wine columnist for many years, and under the editorship of Jason Cowley the magazine has been a slightly fairer and less battily leftwards publication than it was of old.

But today the magazine’s deputy editor, George Eaton, took to social media to announce the results of what he is parading as a ‘gotcha’ interview. The interview – which Eaton conducted himself – was, he promised, positively crammed full with ‘a series of outrageous remarks’. Eaton later posted a picture of himself drinking champagne to celebrate the fate of his interviewee, with the caption “The feeling when you get right-wing racist and homophobe Roger Scruton sacked as a Tory government adviser.” Eaton has since deleted the picture. George Eaton of The New Statesman, Deputy Editor of that rag and asshole superdeluxe. Sir Roger Scruton made the mistake of thinking leftists can be reasonable and trustworthy. I am no world class philosopher, but that's an error I would not have made.



"So what are the ‘outrageous remarks’? It appeared that Scruton had said that Islamophobia is ‘a propaganda word invented by the Muslim Brotherhood in order to stop discussion of a major issue’. Which is true. He also said that ‘Anybody who doesn’t think that there’s a Soros empire in Hungary has not observed the facts.’ A fact which is also true. Obviously since the British Labour party became a party of anti-Semites it has become exceptionally important to pretend that anti-Semitism is equally prevalent on the political right in Britain and that to criticise any of the actions of George Soros is in fact simply to indulge in anti-Semitism equivalent to that rolling through the Labour party. A very useful play for the political left, but wholly untrue. Anyway, I say ‘it appears’ that Scruton said this because there seem to be a few journalistic problems here.

Though Eaton says that Scruton said the above I am not confident that this is so. For Eaton – who used to be the Statesman’s political editor – appears to have a somewhat Johann Hari-esque way with quotes. He claims, for instance, that what Scruton said about Soros was somehow a comment ‘on Hungarian Jews’. As though Scruton had attacked all Hungarian Jews, rather than one very influential and political man who happens to be a Hungarian Jew."

To get back to Iowa Republican Steve King, who got a James Brokenshire treatment at the hands of American 'conservative' Mitch McConnell in that he was removed in January from the Judiciary and Agriculture Committees for having committed the unspeakable crime of asking,

“White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization — how did that language become offensive?”

... for the caravans of hundreds of thousands of Latinos, heading to the United States of America from every crime ridden dirt poor hellhole in Central America, and the mass movements of Africans and muslims from African and islamic shitholes, heading to Europe, the issue seems clear: for them, White societies apparently seem immeasurably more superior to their own. And I will now give you a chap who sheds some light on how that superiority came to be:

RECOMMENDED READS: DENNIS PRAGER'S "ARE WOMEN MALCONTENTS?"

A must read by Dennis Prager over at Townhall:

"I have decided to finally read what is widely regarded as the literary work that unleashed the modern feminist movement, Betty Friedan's "The Feminine Mystique."

I am halfway through the book, and I find it to be a well-written cri de coeur (cry from the heart). Historically speaking, there was always much to lament regarding the status of women. Though I have none of the contempt Friedan has for "housewifery," her description of women who felt they had no sense of self because they were only someone's wife and some children's mother is emotionally compelling.

But a big and troubling thought hit me while reading the book. In the 56 years since "The Feminine Mystique" was published, every complaint Friedan made regarding the situation of the American woman has been addressed. Few American women are forced into "housewifery." The few women who choose to place marriage and home over career have truly chosen to do so; it is the rare young woman for whom marriage and family are greater goals than a successful career. Nor do women any longer go from high school to the wedding chapel. They go from high school to college and often graduate school. In fact, far more women go to college than men.

Yet, if you were to listen to many American women today, you would think nothing has improved. Every women's group and millions of individual women say women are "oppressed" despite the fact that virtually nothing remains of the "feminine mystique" described by Friedan.

In January 2017, between 3 and 5 million American women took part in the Women's March, widely regarded as the largest number of Americans to participate in a single-day march in the nation's history. A year later, millions of American women again participated in the Women's March in marches around the country.

Feminist groups describe the state of American women in dire terms. Young middle-class and upper-class women, many attending the most expensive universities -- paid for by their parents -- are among the greatest malcontents in American life.

In fact, women today, including young women, who lead lives the very opposite of those described in "The Feminine Mystique," are about twice as likely to be depressed as men. And that statistic is true for women across all economic, racial and ethnic groups.

So, then, what was my big and troubling thought?





If women are as likely -- perhaps more likely -- to complain about being oppressed today when they aren't oppressed as they did when they were oppressed, and if women today are nearly twice as likely as men to be depressed, and if women at elite colleges -- where they are pampered and more assured a financially successful future than most men living now or who lived in the past -- are particularly angry and malcontented, simple logic suggests two choices: Either women remain as oppressed as in the past, or women tend to be malcontents.

Given that the reality is that American women -- especially the ones who do the most complaining -- are not oppressed, we are left to conclude that the female of the human species may tend toward being malcontents. The simple-minded will respond to this exactly as they were indoctrinated to respond -- not by asking, "Is it true?" but by accusing the person who offers this suggestion of sexism and misogyny.

So, allow me to respond in advance: This is no more an attack on women than describing men's nature as aggressive is an attack on men. Each sex has built-in issues that an individual has to overcome in order to develop into a mature and good person. Men have to deal with aggression and the sexual predatory aspect of male nature in order to develop into mature and good men. Women have to overcome the power of their emotions and their chronic malcontentedness in order to mature into good women. But in our disordered society -- a society that has rejected wisdom -- in raising their children, two generations of Americans have told only their sons, not their daughters, that they had to fight their nature. The feminization of society has brought with it the destructive notion that only males have to suppress their nature. Feminists really believe females are superior, so why would women have to fight any aspect of their inherently beautiful nature?

Finally, this helps explain why one would consider the left feminine and the right masculine. Though life in America is a blessing for the vast majority of its citizens, the left constantly complains about America. Indeed, the better America gets, the louder the left's complaints about America -- about its racism, sexism, misogyny, homophobia, bigotry, xenophobia, inequality, systemic bias, etc. The right, on the other hand, regards life's difficulties as inherent to life, not inherent to America's flaws, and doesn't much complain. Like men, conservatives complain less than liberals. And just as male and female feminists demand that American men complain more -- that their lack of complaining is a form of "toxic masculinity" -- the American left demands that Americans complain more.

All these women's marches and angry women at colleges probably tell us more about women's nature than about American sexism."

Amen, bro. It was about time one of us male 'oppressors' came forward with this message.

The gist of the story: A couple of weeks ago the AIVD [Algemene Inlichtingen- en Veiligheidsdienst, the Dutch counterpart of the NSA if you will; MFBB] disclosed, in a report made public, that the staff of Amsterdam's islamic school Cornelius Haga had ties with islamic terrorist organizations. Here's a screenshot from NRC Handelsblad, a key Dutch newspaper:




The accompanying article states that AIVD warned Amsterdam mayor Femke Halsema [a notorious islamophile and ecofascist; MFBB] about the "very worrisome situation at Cornelius Haga", where key personnel had ties with islamic terrorist organizations, a.o. the Caucasus Emirate. This Chechen jihadist organization (Imarat Kavkaz) is striving for establishing an islamic republic in Chechnya and surrounding areas in the North Caucasian. It is responsible for the two 2010 bombings of the Moscow underground and the attack on Moscow's Domodedovo Airport in 2011.

That the AIVD chose to make such sensitive information public via ordinary news channels is extremely rare and can only mean there is grave danger involved in letting Cornelius Haga continue.

Well, guess what. Since the disclosure of the report there's a stampede of islamic parents to Cornelius Haga for ensuring a place for their offspring in the coming schoolyear 2019-2020.

This development underscores for the umpteenth time the wide chasm that exists between "our" and "their" behaviour. As I have opined a couple of times before on these pages, if we get informed that some white trash criminal had his career cut short per the business end of police guns, our reaction is invariably "good riddance". Definitely NOT SO for our muslim "co-citizens", for whom islamic terrorists and criminals are heroes. We can be pretty sure that the news of AIVD proving that Cornelius Haga is a hotbed of salafism was actually seen as an endorsement in muslim circles.

The "British" sharia scholar Haitham al-Haddad is a known visitor of the school, and Education Minister Slob has gotten information that half of the hours in Cornelius Haga are spent on salafist courses, but all of that is no problem. However, Thierry Baudet and his Forum for Democracy making a breakthrough in the recent parliamentary elections, now, THAT's bad indeed!



Cornelius Haga Lyceum: prepping students to become model citizens in the future Islamic Republic of Holland. Within five years, most of the girls visible in this photograph will have given birth to their first child.

BOSTON DYNAMICS UPGRADES HANDLE.

In the Beginning there was Handle:





And then there came an upgrade to the Handle Logistics:





This Handle is a highly agile legs/wheels centered robot specifically designed for logistics. It is 2m high, weighs 105 kilograms, and can 'handle' a 30-kg payload. It has 10 joints and depth cameras for perception. Handle can build pallet towers, depalletize, and unload trucks in the warehouse.

I'm a bit surprised BD now resorted to a two-legged wheeled robot since it is clear that this kind of robotic dynamism requires constant dynamic counterbalancing. Given current microprocessor speeds I can imagine the software can handle this just fine - it's 'just' constantly re-calculating the equilibrium of robot and payload in function of the changing place in space, and thus momentum, of both. I guess the requirements for reacting mechanically can also easily be met. But what got me wondering is whether this type of configuration does not require an unneccessary power drain. On the videos you can clearly see how the huge pack between Handle's legs - which cannot be anything else than the battery - is constantly lifted up to provide the fitting counterbalance. One of the biggest obstacles holding robots back has been their limited perception. We humans enjoy a rich constellation of senses that help us navigate our surroundings. Robots need the same, lest they destroy themselves. Go to pick up a box, for example, and you as a human probably don’t think deeply about the lighting and how it may cast shadows that throw off your hand placement.

Kinema’s software—which is robot-agnostic, meaning it already works on a range of robots beyond Handle—helps the machine through all these challenges. “Their system is able to look at a stack of boxes,” says Michael Perry, vice president of business development at Boston Dynamics, “and no matter how ordered or disordered the boxes are, or the markings on top, or the lighting conditions, they're able to figure out which boxes are discrete from each other and to plan a path for grabbing the box.”

The files show four HMRC investigators pleaded with bosses to prosecute the crimelords but were rebuffed - and one claims he was prevented from sharing HMRC data with MI5 because the Revenue wanted to maintain the confidentiality of the terror suspects' tax records.

HMRC told MailOnline it 'can, has always, and does' pass information on to intelligence agencies 'within minutes if necessary' and that confidentiality 'doesn't come into it'.

An estimated £8bn was stolen from the taxpayer through scams including benefit fraud and a massive VAT swindle. The sum, equivalent to the GDP of Kyrgystan or Kosovo, is three times as much as the Government spends on MI5, MI6 and GCHQ each year.

The gang is alleged to have sent one per cent of the money - £80 million - to al-Qaeda in Pakistan and Afghanistan, where it was spent on madrasas and terrorist training camps. MI5 sources say prior to his death in 2011 some of the money had reached Osama Bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

The true scale of the gang's profits, augmented by mortgage fraud, credit card fraud, and investments of the stolen cash, is unknown.

Some members of the syndicate have received and in some cases even finished jail terms - of a combined 100 years for frauds worth £100m - since the crimes first came to light in 1995, but the public has been prevented from hearing about the case or the identities of the wrongdoers by court orders.

The Crown Prosecution Service insists reporting might prejudice potential trials of the gang's ringleaders - despite the fact the kingpins fled the country years ago and are believed to be in hiding in the Middle East.

Last night Meg Hillier, chairwoman of the public accounts committee, told the Sunday Times said she would consider launching a parliamentary inquiry and would question Sir Mark Sedwill, the cabinet secretary and national security adviser to the prime minister, tomorrow."

HMRC intelligence officers also identified the gang's links to Shehzad Tanweer, a terrorist involved in the 7/7 London bombings in 2005 which killed 52 people, at least two years before the attack.

Associates of Tanweer, who who detonated a bomb while travelling eastbound on the Circle Line between Liverpool Street and Aldgate, killing himself and seven others., were suspected of 'multi-identity fraud, phoenix trading, tax evasion, tax credit fraud and money laundering', according to the files.

Many suspects identified by the 1990s investigation were prosecuted, with second-tier members of the gang charged with carousel fraud and money laundering.

In the course of cross-checking HMRC files with secret MI5 intelligence, the CPS found the 'jaw-dropping' link, a source told the paper; that 'MI5 had information that the ultimate destination for some of the money was Osama bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad.'

However, senior HMRC officials declined to use the intelligence to mount prosecutions and take the gang out of operation until after the bombings."

Part of the root of the problem in Seattle is political, but Seattle Is Dying virtually ignores the liberal politics behind Seattle's foul decline. As John Sexton at Hot Air put it, "[t]here's really no escaping the fact that the current situation is the result of political decisions."



~ And yet, reporter Eric Johnson [the KOMO reporter behind the story] said on Facebook that he though[t] politicizing the story was a mistake. He says he's received many offers to comment on national shows that lean either right or left and he's turned them all down. He really seems to believe that people on all sides of the aisle can see the problems and the solutions regardless of where they are coming from.



Johnson begins his report by describing the "seething anger" of Seattle residents who no longer feel safe in their city. Scenes of filth — that rival what is seen in third-world countries — and "lost souls" litter the hour-long report. Residents and small business–owners are "mad" and "embarrassed" at the fact that, in many places, their city, simply put, "looks like s---." And law enforcement personnel are little to no help at all.

After I read the article, I sniffed around a short while and quickly found out that at least thirty years back mayors and key legislators of Seattle were ALL democrats. What is more, an astounding percentage were openly gay! Cal Anderson, Murray (also charged with child molestation), Jamie Pedersen, Nicole Macri, I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

I was in Seattle in summer 1995 and it was still a beautiful city. How I remember walking through clean and safe streets, how I watched the fish-throwing spectacle at Pike's Place. A week before that, I had spent three days in San Fran and that place gave me - back then already - the creeps. In the Ramada Hotel on Market Street the staff expressly told me to avoid this or that area.

Nothing of the kind in Seattle, back then it compared so well with SF that when I was back in Europe I hailed it as a marvel to everyone who would hear it, to the point that I fear I began annoying people.

And so I am very, very sorry to hear about that once great city going all socialistic. Going all...

Got to know the band as a twentysomething when I started to compile my personal Top 2000, forget about them again later. Reconnected when I visited the Bokrijk Sixties Theme Park with our family a couple of years back (you should, too, when in the neighborhood, it's very much okay). RIP Mr Walker, I liked your music. "German police arrested 11 people on Friday accused of having planned an "Islamist terrorist attack" using guns and a vehicle, prosecutors said.

Some 200 police commandos carried out raids in the states of Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate.

The chief suspects were two brothers aged 31 from the city of Wiesbaden and a 21-year-old from Offenbach.

They had allegedly made contact with various arms dealers, rented a large vehicle and amassed cash to cover the expenses.

Police were investigating 10 of those detained for terror-financing and criminal conspiracy. They were aged between 20 and 42 and lived in Frankfurt, Offenbach, Wiesbaden and Mainz.

During the raids, police confiscated several knives, more than 20,000 euros (£17,100) in cash, small amounts of drugs and written and electronic documents.

One of the fastest melting glaciers in Greenland is growing again, say NASA scientists. In 2016 and 2017 the ice got thicker. In some areas the glacier is about 30 meters thicker than in 2015. Yet this is no good news, warn the scientists.

The Jakobshavn Glacier is one of Greenland's biggest glaciers and was calving away frighteningly quick. Year after year the ice retreated some three kilometers, as a result of rising sea temperatures and the planet getting hotter. Over the past couple of years, the glacier grew again a little.

The growth can be explained by colder sea temperatures. Glaciers thus appear to be very sensitive to variations of the water temperature. And that's no good news, say the NASA scientists. The ice seems to be so sensitive, that forecasts in the longer term are difficult.

Anyway, the glacier growing again will only be a temporary phenomenon and won't have an impact on rising sea levels."

FULANI JIHADISTS MURDER MORE THAN 50 CHRISTIANS IN KADUNA STATE, NIGERIA, WORLD YAWNS.

"The recent death toll of Christians in Nigeria has reached 120 with this week’s slaughter of more than 50 by Fulani Muslim militants in the Kaduna state of Nigeria, the Christian Post reported.

The Fulani jihadists, who have become a greater threat to Nigerian Christians than the Islamist terror group Boko Haram, stormed the villages of Inkirimi, Dogonnoma, and Ungwan Gora in the Kajuru Local Government Area last Monday, destroying 143 homes, killing 52 people, and wounding dozens more.

The assailants reportedly split into three groups, the first of which fired upon the people, the second set fire to buildings, and the third chased down people fleeing from the scene. Victims of the assault included women and children.

Monday’s incident followed an attack the day before in the Ungwan Barde village in Kajuru, where 17 Christians were killed and dozens of homes were burned.

In the first week of March, Muslim extremists massacred more than 30 Christians in Karamar village, setting fire to several houses and a church. The terrorists reportedly shot at families trying to escape the fire, killing 32.





The spate of recent attacks against communities has taken place within the predominantly Christian Adara chiefdom of southern Kaduna.

The governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai, has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on the Kajuru Local Government Area to try to contain the violence.

In late February, militants attacked the Maro village, killing 38 Christians and torching homes as well as a Christian church.

The Christian Post reported that Fulani militants killed thousands of Christians in 2018 alone in what many are calling a Christian genocide in Nigeria’s Middle Belt.

Last December, a leading Anglican bishop in Nigeria, Dr. Benjamin Argak Kwashi, said that the Muslim Fulani militants represent the number one terrorist threat facing Christians in Nigeria...."

These last mass killings signify that the Fulani jihadists are actually becoming a bigger threat to Nigeria's Christians than Boko Haram.

Boko Haram [loosely translated as 'The West is forbidden'; MFBB] is a relatively recent phenomenon, as it was only founded in 2002 by Mohammed Yusuf. During the first seven years, it did not resort to violence. That changed in 2009 under a new leader, Abubakar Shekau, and since then it has killed tens of thousands (!) and forced 2.3 million people to flee. In March 2015, Boko Haram aligned itself with ISIL and became known as The Islamic State in West Africa (ISWA) or Islamic State's West Africa Province (ISWAP).

As deadly as Boko Haram/ISWA is, it is about to be eclipsed by the Fulani jihadists, who have a history of violence reaching back far earlier: almost three centuries. The first Fulani jihad started in 1725 in Futa Yalon, when their jihadists, together with muslim slave traders, started a holy war against indigenous chiefdoms which had not even been reached by Christianity, and still professed traditional religions. By 1750, the Fula's 'imamate' was firmly established and sharia law was enforced. This success inspired the Fula and Toucouleurs on the banks of the lower Senegal river to start their own jihad in 1769, and by 1776 they also had an imamate, Futa Toro. In 1804, one Usman dan Fodio started an offensive eastwards, affecting the Hausa states. Within three decades, the old Bornu Kingdom was severely weakened and the until then biggest Fula jihad state was a fact: the Sokoto Caliphate.

Senator Anning wrote his letter on March 15, 2019. To the date fifteen years ago that Paki muslims in Scotland abducted Kriss Donald of Glasgow, tortured him, stabbed him multiple times, castrated him, doused him with gasoline, and set him on fire:





For no other reason than that they were pissed off by a gang of Glasgow chavs with no connection whatsoever to Kriss. Kriss was picked out at random because he was white, male, and presumably Christian.


In a normal world Kriss Donald would very likely be alive today and have a spouse and kids. However, because our insane, spineless and immoral political class allowed, and facilitated, the unchecked and massive immigration from people who bear us ill will and have as ultimate goal to subjugate us, Kriss was brutally murdered by those muslim subhumans.

I hear that there is a lot of 'outrage' over Senator Anning's remarks. In view of the mortal danger that islam poses not only to the West, but to every other peaceful culture, this 'outrage' is both immoral and ignorant. What happened in Christchurch is a tragedy, but ultimately it's a tragedy of islam's own making.

Tarrant's attack was an act of terror in the same way that the bombing of Dresden was a terror bombardment. Both unfortunate events happened INSIDE A WAR, and wars are very nasty things.


Dresden would not have been bombed, and 100,000 plus civilians would not have lost their lives, if Nazi Germany had been a peaceful nation. It was most definitely not.

The mosques in Christchurch would not have been attacked, and 45 plus civilians would not have lost their lives, if islam had been a peaceful religion. It is most definitely not.


Not in a million years would Tarrant - btw, I have no use for that nutter, who seems to be something of a Green Nazi - have attacked a Buddhist place, because Buddhism poses no threat.


Now, I hear that Australia has a new hero in the person of Will Connolly, a fifteen year old kid who planted an egg on Senator Anning's head.

When reviewing the video of that, I was immensely pleased to see that the Senator reacted as he should: by punching the brainwashed brat. Twice:

As the map a little bit further clearly shows, "The West" is only called "The West" because we have been pushed to "The West" - by the followers of an illiterate, immoral and traitorous monster called Muhammad.

Islam has been at war with us for fourteen centuries. It has been, and is, at war with other cultures too, but because of the sheer numbers involved and the conflict's very longevity, the repeated clashes with The West, for a long time identifiable simply as 'Christendom', can safely be said to constitute the chief battleground.

And so, at long last, islam rightly calculated that it could never win anymore from the West with blood and steel, with open warfare...

And it set upon another strategy... a stealthy one. But also a far more effective one.

And this is why, in the second decade of the 21st century, islam can be found virtually everywhere throughout Western nations and their offspring in the Pacific, from Minneapolis to Christchurch.

In all these countries - our countries - it is conspiring to achieve final power and subjugate us through deceit and demographics... and with tremendous succes.


Over at American Thinker, Raymond Ibrahim explains that although islam's methods have changed, its ultimate goal has not:

"At the height of Western dominance over Islam in the early twentieth century, the European historian Hilaire Belloc (b. 1870) made a remarkably prescient observation that may have seemed exaggerated at the time:



~ Millions of modern people of the white civilization -- that is, the civilization of Europe and America -- have forgotten all about Islam. They have never come in contact with it. They take for granted that it is decaying, and that, anyway, it is just a foreign religion which will not concern them. It is, as a fact, the most formidable and persistent enemy which our civilization has had, and may at any moment become as large a menace in the future as it has been in the past” (from Belloc’s The Great Heresies, emphasis added).



Anyone who doubts that Islam has been “the most formidable and persistent enemy which our civilization has had,” should familiarize themselves with that civilization’s long militant history vis-à-vis the West.

According to Islamic history, in 628, Muhammed, the Arabic founder of Islam, called on the Byzantine Emperor, Heraclius -- the symbolic head of Christendom -- to recant Christianity and embrace Islam. The emperor refused, jihad was declared, and the Arabs invaded Christian Syria, defeating the imperial army at the pivotal Battle of Yarmuk in 636 (see my MA thesis on this battle, which one prominent historian described as the world’s “most consequential”).

This victory enabled the Muslims to swarm in all directions, so that, less than a century later, they had conquered the greater, older, and richer part of Christendom, including Syria, Egypt, and North Africa.

Their drive into Europe from the east was repeatedly frustrated by the Walls of Constantinople; after the spectacularly failed siege of 717-718, many centuries would pass before any Muslim power thought to capture the imperial city. The Arabs did manage to invade Europe proper and conquered Spain but were stopped at the Battle of Tours in 732 and eventually driven back south of the Pyrenees.

For more than two centuries thereafter, Europe continued to be pummeled by land and sea -- untold thousands of Christians were enslaved and every Mediterranean island sacked -- in the ongoing Muslim quest for booty and slaves, as what historians have dubbed “the Dark Ages” descended on the continent.

The vicissitudes of war ebbed and flowed -- the Eastern Roman Empire (“Byzantium”) made a major comeback against Islam in the tenth century -- though the border largely remained the same. This changed when the Turks, under the leadership of the Seljuk tribe, became the new standard bearers of jihad. They nearly annihilated eastern Anatolia, along with Armenia and Georgia, in the eleventh century and, after the Battle of Manzikert, 1071, overran Asia Minor.

By now, however, Western Europe’s military might had so matured that when the Pope called on the knights of Christendom to come to the aid of the Christian East, the First Crusade was born. Western Christians, led by the Franks, marched into the beast’s lair, defeated their adversaries in several encounters and managed to establish a firm presence in the Levant, including in Jerusalem, which they recaptured in 1099 -- only to lose it less than one hundred years later, in 1187, after the fateful Battle of Hattin. By 1297, the Crusader presence was eliminated from the Middle East.

But if it failed in the East, the Crusade succeeded in the West. A handful of years after the Muslim invasion and conquest of Spain around 711, fugitive Christians holed in the northern mountains of Asturia began the Reconquista; by 1085 it had proven effective enough to prompt two new Muslim invasions from Africa to counter it. Again, the ebb and flow of war dominated the landscape, but by 1212, at Las Navas de Tolosa, Spain’s indigenous Christians gave Islam its death-stroke, so that by 1252 it was confined to Granada at the southernmost tip of Iberia.

Around that same time, a violent but relatively short-lived Mongolian storm overwhelmed much of the east; both Christians (notably Russians) and Muslims were pummeled. A new Turkish dynasty arose from the Seljuk ashes; the Ottomans -- whose identity revolved around the concept of jihad more their predecessors -- renewed Islam’s perennial war on Christendom. They managed to enter Eastern Europe, defeated a combined army of Crusaders at Nicopolis in 1396, took much of the Balkans, and crowned their achievement by fulfilling Muhammad’s desire of conquering Constantinople -- and enslaving and raping thousands of its inhabitants in ways that ISIS tries to mimic -- in 1453.

But mourning was soon tempered by joy: to the west, Spain finally conquered Granada in 1492, thereby snuffing out Islam as a political power; to the east, the most overlooked chapter of Muslim-Christian conflict was also coming to an end. The Russians, who had lived under distinctly Islamic rule for nearly two centuries, finally cast off the “Tatar Yoke” in 1480.

Even so, the Ottomans continued to be the scourge of Christendom; they continued making inroads into Europe -- reaching but failing to capture Vienna in 1529 -- and sponsored the seaborne jihad originating from North Africa. While the Muslims largely failed to capture new European lands, Barbary pirates and Crimean slavers captured and sold approximately five million Europeans.

In 1683, over 200,000 Ottoman jihadis attempted to take Vienna again. Even though their failure marked the Ottoman Empire’s slow decline, Muslim slavers of the so-called Barbary States of North Africa continued to wreak havoc all along the coasts of Europe -- reaching even Iceland. The United States of America’s first war -- which it fought before it could even elect its first president -- was against these Islamic slavers. When Thomas Jefferson and John Adams asked Barbary’s ambassador why his countrymen were enslaving American sailors, the “ambassador answered us that it was founded on the laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that… it was their right and duty to make war upon them [non-Muslims] wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as prisoners...”

Finally the Colonial Era came with Europe’s triumph over the Barbary States in the early 1800s. By 1900, most of the Muslim world was under European control; by 1924, the more than 600-year-old Ottoman caliphate was abolished -- not by Europeans but Muslim Turks, as the latter sought to emulate the successful ways of the former. Islam was viewed as a spent force and virtually forgotten, until recent times when it reemerged again.

Such has been the true and most “general” history between the Islamic and Western worlds."

The darkest shading represents Western/Christian nations that were permanently conquered by Islam; the lighter or gray shading represents those Western/Christian nations that were temporarily conquered by Islam (sometimes for many centuries, as in Spain, Russia, and the Balkans); stripes represent areas that were raided, often repeatedly, though not necessarily annexed by Islam; the crossed swords mark the sites of the eight most landmark battles between Islam and the West.

From a macrocosmic perspective, the consequences of the historic jihad are even more profound than first appears. After writing, “For almost a thousand years, from the first Moorish landing in Spain [711] to the second Turkish siege of Vienna [1683], Europe was under constant threat from Islam,” Bernard Lewis elaborates:

All but the easternmost provinces of the Islamic realm had been taken from Christian rulers… North Africa, Egypt, Syria, even Persian-ruled Iraq, had been Christian countries, in which Christianity was older and more deeply rooted than in most of Europe. Their loss was sorely felt and heightened the fear that a similar fate was in store for Europe.

The “loss” of North Africa and the Middle East “was sorely felt” by premodern Europeans because they thought more along religious and civilizational lines than nationalist ones. And before Islam burst onto the scene, most of Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East were part of the same religio-civilizational bloc. As such, Islam did not merely invade and eventually get repulsed from Europe; rather, “Muslim armies conquered three-quarters [or 75 percent] of the Christian world,” to quote historian Thomas Madden.

Thus what is now called “the West” is actually the westernmost remnant of what was a much more extensive civilizational block that Islam permanently severed, thereby altering the course of “Western” history. And once Muslims overran Africa and the Middle East, most of its Christian subjects, to evade fiscal and social oppression and join the winning team, converted to Islam, thereby perpetuating the cycle, as they became the new standard bearers of jihad against their former coreligionists north and west of the Mediterranean.

Such are the rarely noted ironies of history.

Returning to Hilaire Belloc, one can also see how an accurate understanding of true history -- as opposed to an indoctrination in mainstream pseudo-histories -- leads to an accurate prognosis of the future. For Belloc was not only correct about the past but the future as well:

It [Islam] is, as a fact, the most formidable and persistent enemy which our civilization has had, and may at any moment become as large a menace in the future as it has been in the past… The whole spiritual strength of Islam is still present in the masses of Syria and Anatolia, of the East Asian mountains, of Arabia, Egypt and North Africa. The final fruit of this tenacity, the second period of Islamic power, may be delayed -- but I doubt whether it can be permanently postponed (emphasis added)."

MEET THE BIRTHSTRIKERS, THE LEFT'S NEWEST NUTJOB GANG.

I don't know how it is with you, but ever day a little bit more, I feel this mounting anguish, this bubbling desire to crack leftist skulls. I don't know what happened to them, but it's almost as if they want to deliberately shed any semblance of reason and turn the whole planet into that funny farm from One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, only with themselves as wards. Take the US House of Representatives, since a couple of months in the hands of the dems again. Anyone already hear a sensible proposition from the new majority?

Uh huh. About what I thought. But we all know of the exploits of Omar, Tlaib, Abrams and AOC.

Alas, even so, as always, Europe, at least Western Europe, keeps taking the lead. Via The Guardian, meet the BirthStrikers, the enlightened, progressive womyn who vow to have no children until climate change stops:

"As soon as Blythe Pepino got together with her partner Joshua two years ago, she felt “this overwhelming urge to create a family with him”, she says. “I think it was the fifth day after having met him, I said: ‘I’ve got to meet your parents.’ He was like: ‘You’re mad.’”

Then, late last year, she attended a lecture held by the direct action group Extinction Rebellion, which set out starkly the catastrophic reality of the changing climate. That galvanised Pepino, an activist and musician (she is the former singer of Vaults, now Mesadorm), to do research of her own and, eventually, to have a series of sad conversations with Joshua.

“I realised that even though I wanted to have a family at that point, I couldn’t really bring myself to do it,” she says. “I had to say to him: ‘I don’t know if I can do this, considering what we know – if there isn’t a political will to fix this, we really don’t stand much of a chance.’”

Pepino, who turns 33 today, found that other women – especially those in climate-conscious circles – were struggling with the same question, but were “too afraid to talk about it” for fear of judgment or ridicule. The US congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez gave voice to their concerns last month, pointing to the increasingly dire scientific consensus and widespread government inaction: “It does lead young people to have a legitimate question: is it OK still to have children?”

And so Pepino decided to publicly announce her decision – strategically making the personal political – by setting up BirthStrike, a voluntary organisation for women and men who have decided not to have children in response to the coming “climate breakdown and civilisation collapse”. In doing so, she hopes to channel the grief she feels about her decision “into something more active and regenerative and hopeful”. In just two weeks, 140 people, mostly women in the UK, have declared their “decision not to bear children due to the severity of the ecological crisis”, says Pepino. “But we have also had people get in touch to say: ‘Thank you for speaking out about something that I didn’t feel I could even talk to my family about,’” she adds. Many of these BirthStrikers are involved with Extinction Rebellion, which on Saturday threw buckets of red paint outside Downing Street to symbolise “the death of our children” from climate change...

There are simply no words for this idiocy. Don't even start to try to explain to these wretched creatures concepts like concentrations, solar minima, positive and negative feedbacks. Do not pain what passes for their brains by having them try to remember that it's been ten years since Climate Gate. And definitely don't test their knowledge of history by asking them what the Vikings were cultivating in the Eastern and Western Settlements in Greenland in the Middle Ages, or why Greenland came to be called Greenland in the first place...

And so, as a sizeable proportion of European native women in child bearing age finds out another reason to NOT procreate, our fertility rate crashes to rock bottom. Via Breitbart:

"Total births in the European Union’s 28 member states in 2017 has fallen from the year before, while first-time mothers are now almost 30.

Figures released by Eurostat on Tuesday revealed that there were 5.075 million babies born in the union in 2017, compared with 5.148 million in 2016 with the total fertility rate standing at 1.59 births per woman — down from 1.60 on the year before and well below the 2.1 births per woman needed to maintain a population.

In terms of individual countries, France had the highest fertility rate at 1.90 births per woman, followed by Sweden (1.78), Ireland (1.77), Denmark (1.75), and the United Kingdom (1.74).

Countries where the mean age for a first-time mother is less than 27 tend to be concentrated in eastern Europe, including Latvia, Bulgaria, Romania, while the oldest first-time mothers tend to be concentrated in the south (Italy, Spain, and Greece), and Luxembourg, and the Republic of Ireland..."

The figures belie the reality, of course, because Eurostat makes no distinction between the females in Europe's muslim communities and those among the "native Europeans". In my country e.g., this means that Moroccan and Turkish women with Belgian ID - and there are a lot of them ever since the progressives forced the Quick Citizenship Bill through some 15 years ago - are simply included in the stats. Since around 20 per cent of Belgians is already of foreign extraction, and on average a good deal younger than the autochtons, the fertility statistics are seriously skewed. The typical Turkish spouse in an immigrant family in the Belgian province of Limburg, a veritable Erdogan bulwark, will have 4 children by the time she is 30... and in doing so handily conceals the terrible truth, namely that fertility among her neurotic, spoiled rotten, indiginous Flemish counterparts hovers around...


... one child per woman.

That's right, your average authochton Flemish woman will give birth to just one child in her lifetime, typically when she's around thirty.

We are committing suicide, and we are financing those who will bury us.

... Apart from that printing extra money isn't a taboo. "The urgency is there: the warming up of the climate must be reduced to one degree and a half by 2030. The Rekenkamer [federal accountancy bureau; MFBB] says we need 1.115 billion EUR yearly. That is possible. We do not have to screw up the budget for that. Why don't we create a European Climate Bank? Such a bank can with that money finance investments AND provide citizens and companies with rent free loans."

Mr Staes may be onto something. Why, printing extra money worked tremendously well in the Weimar Republic:

Longtime DowneastBlog readers may remember a post I put up in 2007 re the same nutter. Indeed, in early May 2007 the same Bart Staes called for a drastic reduction in global cattle because cow farts contain too much methane, which is a potent greenhouse gas:





So it took Mr Staes all of 12 years to come up with a plan - printing money for a European Climate Bank - to solve the persisting problem of cow farts. Because cow farts contain methane (CH4).

I'm no meteorologist, and no chemist either, and definitely not a cowfartist, but I am capable of simple math. Which I did.


Methane is, like CO2, a greenhouse gas, but a much stronger one. Over a time span of a century, a methane emission will have 28 times the impact on temperature of a carbon dioxide emission of the same mass.

And it is true that the globally averaged concentration of methane in the Earth's atmosphere increased by about 150 percent from an estimated 722 ± 25 ppb (parts per billion) in 1750 to 1803.2 ± 1.2 ppb in 2011 (a claim in the IPCC's 5th Assessment Report). According to NOAA (the US's National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), the atmospheric methane concentration continued to rise since 2011 to an average global concentration of 1850.5 ppb in July 2018.

So currently the methane concentration stands at about 1.85 parts per million.

And the CO2 concentration at around 400 parts per million.

Our moral betters claim that the rise of temperature as a result of greenhouse gases, predominantly the dreaded CO2, is about 0.7 degrees Centigrade since the early seventies, when there were an estimated 367 ppm.

This would imply that all of the tremendous bruhaha, what with rising oceans, heat waves etc would be the result NOT of 400ppm CO2, because there WAS already CO2 - an estimated 300 ppm around the time the Industrial Revolution started... but because of 400ppm minus 367ppm.

Or... 33 ppm.


I am going out on a (serious) limb here, because of the many dynamics involved, and I feel I shouldn't really use snapshot statistics, but even so, think about it. Warmists correlate an increase of 33 parts per million of CO2 with a rise of 0.7 degrees Centigrade.


400ppm CO2 means that for every 2,500 molecules of air (78 per cent N2, 21 per cent O2, 1 per cent Argon gas) there is ONE, just one, molecule CO2. Do the math. That's 400ppm.


But the increase of 0.7 degrees Centigrade would be due to only 33 molecules CO2 (400 minus 367, remember). They shouldn't come whining that in the early seventies the momentum was already well underway because of the 367ppm minus the 300 pre-Industrial Revolution, because in the early seventies they were hollering about Global Cooling! So, the 33 extra ppm of CO2 would, according to Warmist Reasoning (an oxymoron if ever there was one) be responsible for the staggering temperature increase of 0 point 7 degrees in half a century.

33 is give and take 400 divided by 12. Or, just ONE molecule CO2 in 2,500 x 12 = 30,000 molecules of air would be responsible for global warming!!! Hey, basically I'm just repeating Al Gore here, I assume he can handle a calculator (But not AOC, she can't multiply. Only thing she can do, is divide).

OK, so 1 molecule of CO2 in the pleasant company of 30,000 molecules of air is the boogeyman. For the sake of the argument, we will even assume, though sure as hell it ain't true, that that CO2 molecule is always of human origin.

Well, now that I have (hopefully) brought you up to speed as regards CO2 concentration, let's compare that with CH4.


Mr Staes wants to slaughter the world's cows, depriving billions of people of food, because of currently 1.85 PARTS PER MILLION OF METHANE.

That's 216 times less than 400 ppm. We have just seen that 400ppm CO2 equals to 2,500 molecules of air vs 1 molecule of CO2.

In other words, the methane from cattle REPRESENTS ONLY ROUGHLY A FIFTH IN THE PREVIOUS EQUATION! Or, for every molecule of CH4 that's emanated from a cow's ass, there's 540,000 times 5 = 2.7 MILLION MOLECULES OF AIR!!!

And yet the cows have to disappear according to our genius. Hey, rice paddies are responsible for 12 per cent of total methane emitted, why not destroy all the rice paddies too???

A complete godforsaken IDIOT like Staes sits on his fat warm ass in the European Parliament however - paid lavishly - and that means that, in contrast to your humble blogger, he's got power. If people like him obtain EXECUTIVE power - and that is not impossible, polls give the Flemish Greens around 15 per cent of the vote in Flanders, they may be able to carry through their plans.
