SATURDAY NIGHT THE WALKER BROTHERS, DICK DALE AND THE DEL-TONES.

So Scott Walker died. He was a Scott alright, born Noel Engel Scott, but no Walker. He got that stage name from his buddy John Walker with whom he teamed up to form the Walker Bros., a short while later in the company of drummer Gary Leeds (btw, the name John Walker being a pseudonym itself for John Maus).

Got to know the band as a twentysomething when I started to compile my personal Top 2000, forget about them again later. Reconnected when I visited the Bokrijk Sixties Theme Park with our family a couple of years back (you should, too, when in the neighborhood, it's very much okay). RIP Mr Walker, I liked your music. For more fitting eulogies I refer to Tony, Sunflowers159, David, Susan, Margaret and others:

Dick Dale also died. Reconnected with that legend thx to Tarantino's use of Misirlou in Reservoir Dogs. If you haven't seen that one yet, do.

The King of the Surf Guitar, real name Richard Anthony Monsour, son of a Lebanese father and a Polish mother, reached the ripe old age of 82. Almost. RIP Dick and thank you too.

Goede nacht.
